Watching tOSU pundits on multiple Fuckeyes post game shows, it is a mirror image of the Ducks post game shows after the Illinois game. Blaming Day’s hires (mentioning the later age of his hires, as opposed to Duck younger coaches, and how they didn’t adjust), how they will keep recruits, why they weren’t prepared for this and that, etc…Cathartic to hear it from the other side. Feeling better about next week, with Meeechigan going down to MSU at home, and their 4 TO’s. Ducks probably won’t need to score a lot of points the next two games against anemic offenses. For those that wanted ASII to see the field earlier, Charles Smith was asked that of why the OSU staff didn’t/doesn’t play St Clair, it’s because the coaching staff doesn’t believe what they can do, which they see every day. Enough of the feel good ASII BS. He ain’t playing a down for the Ducks. Not capable, and probably gone this offseason.

I usually like to visit an opposing Big Ten team's message board after a duck victory (read only) to watch the progression from arrogant confidence to surprise and then to fear and wailing and gnashing of teeth. In this case though, the forum I saw became unreadable after the Ducks' first touchdown. Ohio State was still ahead and already the entire board wanted to fire Day and every other coach. They are really a special group of fans - more entitled even that USC fans, which is saying something. I still think their team is pretty good, but they insist that the whole season is over at 6-3 (same record as Oregon). Day's personality rubs me wrong, but I kinda feel sorry for him - he is surrounded by a lot of miserable fans.

Looking at the posters on the tOSU boards should give 4-5 regulars on here a moment of self reflection the next time things don’t go 100% perfectly and we aren’t winning every game by 3 tuddys.
I’m shocked people aren’t on here tossing dirt on Stein for his loss to Tennessee.

A good problem now, but worried how this plays out: I’m concerned, given this turnaround against pretty middling teams, that Lanning will feel similar pressure to stay loyal to his guys after the season, and will have a hard time moving on from either coordinator. Barring a playoff run, there’s no way the sample size is there to justify keeping Johnson at OC over a top tier outside hire.

I don’t think it’s possible to overstate how remarkable this turnaround is. The first half of the season was really ugly and most teams would’ve packed it in. Just look at tOSU, they lost their starting QB and they immediately collapsed. We not only lost our star QB but have had a mountain of other issues this season. And watching that team yesterday, you would never know. They have their mojo back and all of Dan’s trickery and risks worked flawlessly yesterday.
Lanning had already earned everyone’s trust but this just cements him as the man. The start of this season and the Mehringer hire is still on him (and he still needs to make more changes/hires) but the way he’s righted the ship is his most impressive accomplishment, in my mind.
