Don't forget this kid is a talented kick/punt returner too, he did some at the AA game.

Re: Harris commits
Awesome news guys and mops wouldn't that be something to get an athlete that can (and would) play both ways!Mops wrote:Best commit star power rise this season and maybe even bigger than last years class. The talk is that Harris would have been the top rated cover corner had he not had his grade issues. He was going into the season the top CB in the nation and then dropped as the season went on and he didn't play the entire season as he had to sit out.
Harris could play right away at Oregon but I don't see him starting right away. Too much depth and talent ahead of him that will IMO prevent him from starting day 1.
Bulking up and to continue improving in the classroom will be the areas of improvement for this guy.
I don't believe he will strictly play DB or WR when he gets here. He could certainly end up starting at CB and then being used here and there as a WR.
GO DUCKS!! WTD!

Now that we have him I would be happy to finish up with Boyd, Brown and Hall and this class would be complete!!!

My thoughts exactly. I have felt that way for awhile & now that we've lost a few guys it's become all that much more important.gofightingducks wrote:Now that we have him I would be happy to finish up with Boyd, Brown and Hall and this class would be complete!!!

Are things looking better for Harris to qualify now? I'd heard for a while that both he and Jefferson were going to have problems...

Re: Harris commits
Harris said before the AA game that he probably wouldn't commit if he didn't think he woudl qualify. I think he will probably redshirt next year allowing Jackson to get some starting experience so when Harris is a RS freshman he isn't thrust into being our #1 corner. My guess is he will at the lowest be our #3 corner his RS freshman year if not a starter. I think whether he will RS will depend on how much weight he can put on until summer practice. Hell of a commit and by far the most important commit this recruiting year. Hopefully Boyd can follow up. Just throwing a little optomistic power out there.
The rivals experts predicted Harris to Oregon despite a recent USC offer to Harris. Three of the four rivals experts also predict Boyd to Oregon (the other says Clemson). Also I feel like you can tell in what Boyd says that he is (or at least was) an oregon lean. I mean he said Clemson was "an acc school that plays like the sec) I mean you look at that statement and wonder. SEC football is defense oriented. And BOTH sec teams clemson played they lost to (bama and south carolina) so in my opinion... go figure. I think Boyd knows he will fit in with the oregon offense much much better and has a shot to play his RS freshman year

Re: Harris commits
Cliff is a great get, This guy is gonna be a player. Needs to bulk up a little but i see him as a Walter Thurmond III type Corner who will get the job done and if he redshirts could easily be a 4 year starter!

GO HARD, GO OREGON, GO DUCKS!
