Herschel Walker in MMA last night!

Post by briarduck »

Anyone else see it?

He did great! Its funny I thought he'd be more of a stand up fighter but he threw punches to set up a take down and beat the hell out of his opponent (from punches not submission FYI)! After his victory he said if MMA was around a while back he never would have played football...I was shocked to hear that but not surprised, he's such a competitor! The commentators mentioned before the fight that he has a background in Tae-Kwan-Doe dating back to high school and competed quite a bit before FB...

Any who it was pretty cool seeing a 47 year old guy beat up a bigger (height wise) and younger guy...BTW HW is still a beast, he was just as ripped as he was in his playing days!

They talked about his Tae Qwon Do background when he was on "the Apprentice".

Would you mess with that guy?

Now that there is big money in MMA if you can get to the big show, You will start to see more and more freak athletes go to this sport .
In 10 years there will be professional athletes all over the UFC I don't actually get in the cage anymore but I still train. I always see division 1 wrestler's, but now ex division one football players show up often. Usually right after a big fight on tv lol. The funny thing is most of the time they get embarrassed by somebody half there size.
My point is some of these guys stick around and pick it up very quickly they become elite fighter's.
