This Board
I love the info that can be read here, I just can't deal with the weeks of anticipation leading up to people making there decisions, only to not choose us. I have to believe that Boyd chose Clemson for more reasons than his parents, just like Streeter and Boyd chose Miami and Kentucky last year. I guess the point of this post is that while I like this forum, all of it is a bunch of mumbo jumbo that is promising, but never really works out for us. People and their sources build up too much hype about how people are interested in Oregon, making everyone think it is a lock that some prospect is coming here, but it just turns out to be a let down. I remember when Stewart committed here, all I ever saw about it was we got the number 2 overall prospect(according to espn) and I was like cool. But now waiting for recruits to make their decisions is a waste of time because there is nothing we can do to influence their decision. I can't stand it when people try to make excuses as to why recruits don't come here and then bash them about the decisions they made. Boyd just liked Clemson better, it wasn't just his parents, it wasnt just the distance, it was because he felt better about going to Clemson rather than Oregon. And to be honest, I probably would have done the same thing without the duck bias i have, given the location and people at clemson. The prospects that clemson has gotten in the last year are ridiculous, and blow us out of the water. So please, stow the excuses as to how he would have chosen us if something were different because its annoying and quite frankly it comes across as bitter. If you want to make a difference, become a five star athlete and commit to Oregon. Thanks

I've been a 5* for years.... I just can't get past admissions.. *jk
Seriously though, I have had to temper my own following of this board..... I found it and was SO addicted to all the *good news speculation* that was around....
I still appreciate it hand over fist above everything else out there, however, I need to be a little more realistic (specifically about recruiting) in my expectations.
Regardless, thanks for everyone's hard work in making this site rock.

Completely! Thank you to the people that put this together. I live in MI and nobody ever wants to talk about Oregon football since we have owned them this decade. Keep up the great work with the articles and the discussions.

As I've said before this is the BEST place for Duck's info, especially for someone behind enemy lines in the South just trying to spread the UofO gospel!

Yeah this is my second year REALLY following recruiting and I am not so sure if I will follow so closely in the future. I will check maybe weekly to see who we're looking at like I used to but the up and down world of recruiting and the fact we only get 20% of the guys we offer and getting somewhat attached to a player and expecting them to be a Duck makes it a bit depressing to follow.

If you think only getting one in five to stick with you is too hard to handle, never try to pick up girlslukeyrid13 wrote:Yeah this is my second year REALLY following recruiting and I am not so sure if I will follow so closely in the future. Lol ya thankfully I just got married though. But we offer 85 kids and we hear about them so when only 20-25 become Ducks it is difficult to see guys we're so used to hearing about at other schoolsTray Dub wrote:If you think only getting one in five to stick with you is too hard to handle, never try to pick up girlslukeyrid13 wrote:Yeah this is my second year REALLY following recruiting and I am not so sure if I will follow so closely in the future. I donno...I love all this...Hit or miss on a recruit it's still so much fun...It's duck football no matter what the form...I mean when we lose a game I'm torn up and it ruins my day and week and sometimes a month or even a few months if it's a bowl game...but at no point do I ever second guess going to the game or watching it on tv because we lost or do I ever think I'm not going to watch or go to the next one...Same things goes for basketball, I just love watching and hearing about our ducks.
