There are more posts in this thread about the OP than the topic. How petty can we get?

Pretty soon they will change the name from chat 4 quacks to OLIVE's rejects.
Love the petty bickering constantly.

I think D1 is getting better and i appreciate his perspective. Earlier I thought it was more we have no chance of getting Brown and we should go after Harris, but now I appreciate his input more

Re: MIAMI OC MET BROWN
I read that Mike Bellotti visited with Bryce on Monday in Wichita. That was posted on Rivals.com earlier.
Bryce also said that he appreciates Chip Kelly because they talk about things other than football. I agree that Chip is taking a great approach. This kids phone is ringing off the hook with sales pitches from umpteen D1 football coaches. So what does he do when he gets stressed out and needs a break? He dials up his buddy Chip from Oregon.
I love it!
Even if Bryce ends up going somewhere else, this approach is going to hit home with a lot of kids. Personally, I think it's great.

It's the offseason and recruiting isn't going as well as we thought it would. I expect everything to be good when duck football returns. We just have to wait about 7 months.

Just curious if you guys think Harper is in his ear? Kind of like the McNeal guy being in the ear constantly of Boyd. Can't be a bad thing if he is

Re: MIAMI OC MET BROWN
I always thought Harper could do wonders with Brown's recruitment, but I don't know if that's the case or not. Also, Bryce McNeal practically talked (forced) Boyd into taking that Clemson visit and of course played Oregon like a drum with his own recruitment. I honestly believe that if Bryce McNeal committed to Oregon on AA day than so too would have Boyd. I don't wish either of them well in their careers, for playing Oregon to the tee that they did. Back to Harper, I think he is pretty close to Brown's brother so anything is possible when it comes to Bryce, but I still think he ends up at Miami because of his family. Even though he is the perfect fit in CK's O. But recruiting is a fickle bitch anyways, I wouldn't ever get my hopes up that Harper could single handedly recruit him here like McNeal did with Boyd.

Re: MIAMI OC MET BROWN
Harper talks to BB, no doubt. But if Clemson was in Washington, and McNeal was in Boyd's ear, I don't think Boyd would have gone to Clemson. Prolixity is everything with these Christian kids who stick with their family.rjfrik wrote:Just curious if you guys think Harper is in his ear? You got to get the whole family to commit in order to get 1 recruit. That's how I see it with BB, and that's how it went down with Boyd.

I love it. Some of the same people who are comparing this to OLIVE are the same people who go out of there way to call people babies and whiners when they post what only amounts to disappointment with how recruiting is turning out. I see a lot of hypocrisy from a few posters.

I'm sure this was targeted at me and it's okay. The problem I have is this Pontius. First off in C4Q's infancy it was more like a group of guys talking about ducks football. Now the group has grown 5X. I admire all arguments when supported with some basis. I also support people not viewing our current recruiting class as positively as I do. But it's just that ALL of the negativity that is coming out lately coupled with some lame name calling kind of ridiculous. Now some people have been somewhat harsh to D1watcher saying he's pimping Andre Harris, whatever. Unlike 98% of this board, D1 usually posts a unique article/link/story that nobody here would normally find. He's a great contributor, you may not like what he always has to say or who he likes or what the article says, but fact is he is a contributor unlike many who just post opinions.Pontius wrote:I love it. Lately I've heard more requests for Mops' sources than I ever did when it was still C4Q. Has the guy not earned some trust? Show him some respect. Anyways I'm off of my soap box. Feel free to post away, I only ask that we keep it in a courteous manner, as opposed to attacking our brethren of fellow Duck fans.

I would say that the silent majority truly appreciate all information brought to this board, positive or negative. I can handle bad news even if it comes from the same poster. I wouldn't want just one side of the story so we need guys like Duckgrad99 and others who give us the other side of the coin.

Duckgrad99 brings a healthy balance & is mostly good natured with everything. I actually enjoy most of his posts. It's the other people who think it's their job to not just disagree with people but to flame & mock them. The board has deteriorated a bit since we got a lot of new members but I don't expect them to think that because they weren't around when this board first started. All in all, this is still the best board around & most everyone brings good stuff to the board. Pontius included.Destroyer77 wrote:\jhopduck wrote:I'm sure this was targeted at me and it's okay.
