Jamil Wilson transferring?

That would suck if so. He could really help Altman but he may not have been pleased with the coaching change. This could turn out to be a long season with the lack of athleticism and scorers this team has.

Only way I'll be okay with him leaving is if Altman can pull in some of the big targets in the 2011 class. Wiltjer would be a great start to Altman's first full recruiting cycle.

I'm really disappointed in someone like this. He obviously knew what he was getting into with the coaching situation and coming a far distance to Oregon. IMO, he is now taking the easy way out by going back closer to home.

I am not losing any sleep over this. As my buddy pointed out to me today - It is hard to get too upset about a highly-touted player that couldn't get of the bench on a VERY VERY bad basketball team. Same goes for Crittle and Wiley. The turnover sucks, but then again, how bad is it to lose players that couldn't even crack the starting lineup on a team that finished 9th and 10th in the Pac-10 the last 2 years?

He is still a top talent, and Kent didn't know how to manage the starters or the bench very well. IMO, it's a huge loss if true. Not many freshman come in and dominate right away.

If he is indeed transferring, it really lowers the amount of depth on the team. Without Wilson, there would only be 10 scholarship players on the roster if you include Loyd and Nared. I think getting Armelin from Louisiana would really help out now. It would get 11 scholarship players on the roster and would only make Altman have to get 4 players next instead of 5 after next season.

Really? I didn't expect him to dominate as a freshman, but certainly did expect him to make a significant contribution. If I remember right, Taylor, Leunen, Brooks (before he broke his hand), Rid, and Hairston all managed to contribute as freshman. EJ even came in and made a much bigger impact than Wilson. He couldn't even break EK's 9 man rotation for most of Pac-10 play. That is hardly "top talent". "Top talent" doesn't sit on the bench 9 players deep while the team scores 50 points a game and loses by 20 every week.....even on EK's team.
