That's awesome. More viewers than the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl and Sugar Bowl.... I wonder how it compared to the Fiesta Bowl (and the huge Ohio State fanbase) and the Championship game (or would they be included, since they were on a network TV station, not cable)

gofightingducks...Network and Cable are different mediums, so numbers aren't comparable. So most likely we didnt beat the Rose, Orange, and Sugar...still big to be #1 though.
Guys, remember, this is CABLE ratings. In other words, Fox, ABC, CBS, and NBC don't count. So no, the Rose Bowl did get more viewers, as did the Fiesta bowl. We were the highest ranked program on CABLE.
Here are the ratings for all of last year's bowl games, I'm sure this year's will be posted soon. Oregon got about 2 times as many viewers this year than they did last year for the Sun Bowl.
Canard wrote:I have been casually looking, but I can't find Sun Bowl ratings, especially since it came nowhere near the top twenty broadcast shows for that week.
And the closer it got to a 3-0 shellacking of Pitt, the lower the ratings sank...
Autzen Stadium... Where great teams go to die...Hard!
These numbers reflect live viewing plus same day DVR usage. If you look at live viewing only, the Holiday Bowl is number two behind the Alamo Bowl.
Alamo Bowl - 4.41
Holiday Bowl - 4.38 Million Homes
Of course nobody in the industry actually cares about Household data. The real money is in M18-49...
Holiday Bowl - 1.78 Million M18-49 viewers
Alamo Bowl - 1.74 Million M18-49 viewers
In the business, at face value, they are practically the same thing. Of course, you'd want those extra 40K viewers but no huge difference over one telecast.
Keep in mind these are impressions and not ratings.
