Yeah, we should just keep with the 2* recruits, so that we don't have to feel the sting of rejection. Geez guys, I hope this wasn't your approach to woman. I mean, really, how much energy did we lose in BB's recruitment. CK probably had a handful of 15 minute conversations along with some home visits. I think the risk/reward was high.

I think we all need to look at this with the proper prospective. 5 to 10 years ago we would not of been able to even talk to the number 1 recruit in the nation. Now two years in a row we have been in the running for their services. I believe that is great progress as a program. I for one just can't wait for the the next couple of years when we start landing these guys.

Amen. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. The exposure only creates familiarity for the big guys down the road.

I’m sure all Oregon fans will love to be strung out again after signing day for 2010 by the # 1 recruit in nation. It should be an annual occurrence. Who’s next? Ill’ guess Lache Seastrunk

If we can be in an annual discussion for the #1 recruit every year we would have to bring one in sooner or later! I hate the waiting part of the Pryor/Brown type recruitments, but I love the Ducks being relevant in these discussions.

As soon as we are able to knock off USC and be the top dog in the PAC-10 for a couple of years straight and create some consistency with winning and being a top 10 team year in and year out and competing for a BCS Bowl Game and only being a 1-2 loss team every year or better yet undefeated we will land a couple of those top guys we are going after and as soon as that happens the Ducks will receive more and more interest and then things will start to fall into line and we will more consistently get a handful of those top guys and have top 10-15 recruiting classes. It is looking as though if the Ducks can have a good season and compete for a PAC-10 title, next year could be the year we start landing those guys. :D

We may have lost out on Brown and Pryor the year before and even to add to that Tajh Boyd. And it stings a little to be the brides maid and never the bride. But think about this: would you want to give back Harper/Ty Gaines/Brian Jackson/Blount/Darron Thomas/LaMichael James/Braxton Lane and so many others of our national recruits and stick to west of Utah only?
Also we may really see the fruits of our labor this year by reeling in several Florida recruits and maybe a player from LA/TX this year as well. Also I hear that Tennessee the state has a lot of 2011 recruits that have Oregon at/or near the top early.
Remember these top level players by their sophomore years already are hearing from schools and have some "favorites" formulated. In all reality we are already kind of late on the train when we offer/show interest their senior year. They have likely already heard from the regional schools for a year by that time. Lots of those guys are also a lot of times committed by start of senior year or even earlier like some kid named Ethan Grant. You think we started recruiting Ethan a month before he committed? Or maybe that was part of last years' work?
