I'm not defending NA in anyway shape or form he should be out, but of our starter last year , at least according to scout, 3* Tukuafu, Cole L., Reed, Boyd, Mathews. 2* Harris, Paysinger and all our secondary starters minus Ward who was a walk on. I know the last couple year we have gotten some good recruits but these were our starters this year. Though I really thought Reed was 4* but it says 3.

Well that proves my point just as much, Utah and TCU probably had the same level of talent or less, yet far exceeded their expectations and outperformed the Ducks D (yes they were in a less difficult conference but faced some tough teams) In fact Utah has two D guys going to the NFL early. However, maybe with the last couple of classes getting higher rated 3* and more 4* guys on D NA might be able to do just a little bit better!

Of course TCU and Utah were better than UO that's not my argument. My argument is look at guys like Lewis who could have been a stud LB for UO, is on O with thumb up his you know what. Dickson, who I feel is the most physically talented TE we have had at UO is being wasted. He should have 3-5 catches a game, not go 2 games with nothing. Why waste a talent like White who could be a great DE at TE?

I agree with that. If guys are not going to be put to use on offense then they should be playing defense where they can potentially be an impact player.

As long as MB or CK are running the show the best athletes will end up on offense for one simple reason, these are offensive coaches. Everyone in the country talks about how good the defenses are in the SEC, but that's because they put athletes on the defensive side of the ball. Malachi Lewis was a 4* player and the #6 SLB in the country when he came in and we never even thought about him playing on defense

malachi lewis?
ESPN lists Lewis as 220 lb., isn't that a little light for a TE? I've always wondered if size was the reason Lewis doesn't get on the field.
Even when Dickson graduates, NaDerris Ward is here, and he has a definite size advantage. Regardless of his abilities with the ball, the ability to block is just as important; just ask all of our past injured QBs.
I'm starting a Lewis for slot WR campaign as of right now.

last time I talked to Curtis he said they were looking to use him at DE and not TE. But anything could happen with more than a year still he gets here.

yeah i think we need to use him at de as well, we got malachi and ward waiting in the wings ready to fill the te position so lets beef up that front four and actually try to pressure a qb. oh wait we still have allow a loti nevermind

Stud...damn! Someone said he looked slow, but have you seen slow most college TEs seem? I was actually thinking, "This guy could play WR for us," when watching the videos.

I think I said that because in the videos his foot speed looked slow but I have never seen him play in person...my bad!
