Byrd may still change his mind, I believe he still has 72 hrs from midnight tonight to withdraw his name.
I think this Byrd will fly away. His dad, I'm sure, was involved in the decision and no way he would have told his son to declare if he didn't think he'd have a great shot. Just IMO............

I hate to see Byrd forgo the rest of his college career but I wish him the best in the NFL and hope he succeeds. I think the Ducks will do just fine without him. We as Duck fans should be grateful he is the only one making the jump, we could have lost a lot more talent. So again good luck to Byrd, I would love to see him doing well in the NFL next year!

On a related note Florida's Percy Harvin is going to the NFL which will hurt Tebow and the Gator's chances at repeating as NC's. I know one guy isn't everything but he was Tebow's go to guy (particularly in the NC game) Granted he was injured or not 100% most of the year so Florida could be OK, but it will be interesting to see what effect his departure has on Tebow and Florida.

We sure don't hear much about Gildon. I had high hopes for him when he came here. Not too
late though.

This makes my pick of Gildon as bust out player for next year a little more plausible. I loved snagging him from USC!!!

I don't understand this decision. His dad has direct NFL access and there are no financial concerns. I can't believe he goes any higher than 3rd or 4th round. Why not stay next year on a solid team and make a run at 1st round money.

If Byrd follows thru and goes out, then put me in the club that also is pulling for Gildon to make his mark. AG was able to RS in '08, so he's got 3 yrs of eligibility left. Now the cupboard isn't bare at CB with guys like Jackson & Glasper, but I'll admit to never being bulled over by either of those guys. Anthony has bulked up to handle the physical demands that Neal & NA expect. I sure hope he has a great Spring gives the others a run for their money.
