If the Ducks go undefeated, how many recruits will PC delude into commiting to USC in an effort to help return the Trojans to their rightfull place in histoey?

so this recruit is obviously a elite recruit if hes gonna hold a press conference....?jhopduck wrote:Silents are nothing more than heavy leans at this point. That is the view of the staff and should be our view really.
Elite schools like Texas or others will hold them until a higher ranking prospect may decide. That does not apply to Oregon... yet.....
I have one confirmed myself. The reason I do not make it public is at the wish of the respective player, who hopes to hold a conference right after HS starts. I don't want to ruin his one shot at the spotlight.

Jhop... what are our chances of landing Markus Lattimore? Seriously. I heard the guy from Athlon sports on the radio the other day and he said we are on his top 5 list (we all know that), but the he thought ML wasn't leaving S. Carolina and that he was the Gamecocks to lose.
Thought?

No Nostradomus here.bigsugarduck wrote:If we start the season 4-0 beating Boise, Purdue, Utah and Cal.....how many players commit in that span?
If we start the season 7-0 and then fight USC (tooth and nails) and come up short or Win....how many players commit in that span?
How many players will be hopping aboard the Duck Train before we get to bowl season?
Obviously, this is just speculation, but we know you are the second coming of Nostradomus, so we're going to hold you to these predictions Jhop![]()
4-0 will be good but I think that will be early to get too many commits. That said the NC group will mostly have their decisions by then, so if we got all 4 of them, that changes the numbers. Dixon is coming to Utah game, I'm liking the chances, but that is just speculation. Guess is 1 not counting NC kids.
7-0 at USC would really be eye opening, especially with the list of talent being assembled to visit that game. Guess is 2.
Bowl train being early January hopefully. Committed players to Oregon by that date. 12.

Re: Open Topic!
I think the staff is seeing a lot of interest from high level player this early in the game and its never been matched before. A big part of the reason is because IMO we've seen the staff recruit the players really well the past two years but falling short on the parents. Now, I think the family members are getting high on Oregon as well as the kids, which helps with the distance part.

I would probably have to agree the Cocks are probably the top team. That said, a trip will do wonders, and I don't think anyone is giving Oregon the shot they truly have.uodux1212 wrote:Jhop... what are our chances of landing Markus Lattimore? Seriously. We finish top 2, but I don't know if we get him for sure. Long ways to go here, visiting USC game.

Lattimore is going to be a tough pull. Until the kid even visits I'd say we sit at #5 simply because he's not been to ORegon. I know hes been to Portland, but he needs to see the program, meet the staff, see the stadium, locker rooms and such. Its an up hill battle.

Re: Open Topic!
What are the reasons some of these top rated kids are considering the Ducks in the last few cycles? Coaches recruiting new areas? One of the top programs not named USC on the west coast? Our offense? The uniforms? Dennis Dixon's play in 2007? Video games?
Takes?

IMO success on the field past few years. Players getting to the Pros recently and early I might add.uodux1212 wrote:What are the reasons some of these top rated kids are considering the Ducks in the last few cycles? Chip Kelly is a real big one, he's a helluva recruiter. The hires of Azz and Frost are looking very good too BTW!!!

Re: Open Topic!
Jhop, (and any of the other mods) I read above that you're a season ticket holder, can I assume that you are also a contributor to the DAF?!? How does that all tie in with your being involved with the recruiting and the actual recruits themselves? There are some pretty specific rules about alum/donors etc and recruits. Do you have to be extra careful? Or not worried at all about that aspect? How do you see it?!?
Thanks, this is a great thread...
