Does he have to sit for a year? He didn’t really do much last year, but hard to believe any conclusions can be reached in his freshman year, unless he had prima donna issues. Beavs may have a couple of good, young receivers going forward. Now if they can find someone to get them the ball.

I actually think this is correct. The Ducks like the young receivers we have coming in better AND they have additional tape on Williams that led them to pass. From my USC friends, they loved his size, but questioned his hands and work ethic. He obviously didn't want to compete as evident by jumping ship so quickly. I think people here are reluctant to believe the Ducks passed because he was a 5 star at one point. I think the like Johnny Willson much more than Williams.

At this point, we may also have Johnson or schooler next year if they end up using a redshirt Schooler is unlikely but there’s a rumor Johnson may be dealing with an Achilles issue.

Juwan Johnson used his redshirt year in 2015 while at Penn State. I can't keep up with the rules, would he qualify for a 6th year as medical hardship?

Ah, didn’t know that. If he missed the whole season maybe, but usually 6th years aren’t granted until late in the summer. As an nfl caliber guy it wouldn’t behoove him to play wait and see.

Only if he missed 2 years due to injury, as Cam McCormick has.

IRC, Johnson missed significant time last season due to injury, but likely not enough to qualify for a MR.

Then again, I may be confusing "hampered by injury" with missing time...

The scholarship situation is confusing. I'm curious if Stack leaving made a difference. It also seems like some of they guys (Poutasi comes to mind) should take a medical retirement.
