ESPN has done a story about Devon Williams and his tough road to be a top-ranked recruit. Oregon was the favorite for the longest time because they were his first offer but the coaching change has now made it 50-50 between the Ducks and USC.

If he is averse to coaching changes, I think USC would be an interesting choice. I would bet money that Helton will not be the head coach at USC by thet time Williams is done with school. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him fired by the end of next season if they struggle without Darnold.

Also Talanoa. Some kids just love the weather down in LA. It sucks when we lose recruits to USC, but I'm not as frightened losing talent to USC than if we lost those recruits to Stanford or UW or even UCLA now. USC is probably the worst performing top tier talent college teams in the nation.

Same. Him and Harrison are special athletes, probably the best on the west coast, and in the top tier in the country. Williams though has the height to be dominant. Gonna be a fun signing day.

I agree with you but I think Williams is one of those exceptions like dat and AA

Hope you're right. I agree that Williams seems like the type of kid who would choose us over USC, and having Pickett and Lenoir can't hurt. I don't know if I agree that Cristobal provides more stability than Helton. Cristobal is brand new and our third coach in three years, while Helton has won a Rose Bowl and been in a NY6 game two years in a row. We all know Helton is a sub par coach, but on paper he looks better than Mario.

USC is also losing Darnold. Herbert has this year and is no sure lock to leave early, even if it feels like he's got a great chance to be a 1st from what we've seen. Cristobal and Arroyo will be Sunshine-Pumpin the offense whereas Helton is a defensive coach. He's known about Oregon for a long time and while Chip may be in Westwood, the legacy of that period lives on in young players minds because that's who they grew up watching. For a kid born in 2000, Oregon and USC aren't that far apart as far as programs go and the Trojans best success came when they were too young to remember it and ours happened at the time they started playing catch.

Dosed him up on painkillers, which allegedly led to multiple heart attacks and curtailed his NFL career.
