The only danger is SC can be a bit of a sleeping giant in recruiting. If they get juice, it could mean more NIL support and buzz. That said, Go Trojans….I guess.

I’ll never root for usc and uw. Just win, and whatever those losers do doesn’t help or hurt UO.

You make a compelling argument

Looking at the schedule
I can root for USC over Notre Dame, Penn State and Michigan and UW if it would secure us a spot in the playoffs.
I can root for UW over any of Penn State, Michigan or USC if beating them would get us into the playoffs but not if the game is meaningless to us.
In a UW versus USC game with no playoff implications for us, I am currently torn between my old animosity towards Washington and my recent ramping up of dislike for USC. I blame USC for the breakup of the PAC and UW teamed with us to get a conference lifeline.

And we battle USC for alot of the same recruits. So totally agree, don't need anything to help USC recruiting.

Just turned the game on, seeing both fanbases and teams makes me really want both teams to lose.

As we saw throughout the years as the Pac-12's relative perceived strength eroded, this isn't true.

That was an entirely different playoff system though. With 12 spots, if you’re relying on perceived conference strength to sneak into the 12th spot, you’re probably not good enough to win it anyway. Teams have control of their own destiny. I’m ok seeing conference rivals lose every non-conference game.

USC looks so much better than us in Week 1.

But we aren’t in the P12 anymore. Besides UCLA beating them a couple years ago didn’t help us. LSU isn’t some juggernaut team. They are a middle of the road team.
