I try to stay optimistic. But the fact is we are going to open a new state of the art arena soon and unless Kent starts showing some W's. He won't be around. The team is young, but young players in bball is not like having young players in football. One thing that sticks out to me is Dunnigan's performance. He's not improving, and I don't expect to win the Pac-10 or be in the elite 8 this year, but IMO they are underperforming by reasonable standards.

Jhop I almost always agree with you and think you make great points most of the time...but...I"m sorry Michael Dunnigan has showed amazing improvement...I don't know if your a big basketball fan or know alot about it but if you watch the game itself and how this team plays you'll see that they are a 10x better basketball team when he is on the floor and he is really really good...He is still very raw but if you've been watching since the start of the season you can see the difference in his game on the court...His ability to stay out of foul trouble and stay on the court...The ability to be strong with the basketball which he wasn't earlier on...The understanding of positioning and also with reposting and getting better position instead of just taking the first look...His defense has vastly improved...and he's not the only one, Humphrey is coming along...Kamyron Brown has been awesome from what he was last year and is only a sophmore...Lekendrick is more than anyone expected him to be...and the thing you have to realize is this team isn't just young because of the freshman...All the leadership graduated and instead of Odia and Dorsainvil stepping and taking it 2 juniors(Porter and Catron) and a sophomre(LL) are having to change from role players which is what they have been and really are and try to be leaders...Trust me I have no qualms that if we don't get alot better next year and atleast not make a run at the tourney if not get in that Kent should be gone...I don't think we can do better than Kent but you just can't have a terrible terrible season and then just a so-so to terrible season after...I'm fine with chalking this one up to youth as long as we win one pac-10 game but next year has to be a different story and I have every belief it will be

We might have to transfer this over to the basketball forum, but Dunigan isn't improving. Look at his games against Alabama and North Carolina, then look what he has done in pac-10 play. Sure the kid has a ton of potential, but so did all of the other players who have played at Oregon under Kent. And if you want to chalk this season up to youth, how do you explain last year? We weren't good then either.

I guess at the Bend luncheon Kenny Payne said that both Dunnigan and Crittle showed up about 40lbs out of shape and in HS they didn't really even have to practice or condition. So that could be why Dunnigan is struggling as the season wears on.
