We've talked about Brown being a program-changing recruit, but I'm starting to wonder if getting him would be the correct kind of change. Butler is NOT a guy I'd want wandering around on campus...he just screams recruiting violation

All Canadians are evil...
Bottom line is CFL doesn't have the money to make that decision worth it, and the game is built more for scat backs with an emphasis on receiving running backs up here. Ricky Williams' stint was not impressive and Brown's stock would be much better served at Oregon posting 1000 yard rushing seasons. How would Oregon be best served though? It's hard to trust this Butler guy based on what is written about him and though I trust our coaches to follow the rules, but we might be better in the long run if Brown ends up elsewhere.

Butler said he would explore the possibility of Brown’s skipping college and going to the Canadian Football League next season if approached by a team. He mentioned the idea of a team paying Brown $5 million a year for three years. But the salary cap for entire C.F.L. teams is $4.2 million Canadian.
“If they were talking about any amount of real money,” Butler said, “I’d guarantee it.”
Wow, just wow. Who does this guy think he is? The sick part is he uses a supposed relationship with God to sucker in the relationship with the Brown's. Classic.

At 350lbs. Butler needs to do the Brown 10 day fast? What a piece of work.

I never knew that Brown was such a selfish player. From everything else I've read he seems like a good guy, but now I don't know what to think. The fact that his head coach, someone who he has played with for probably 4 years, says such bad things about him is really alarming. I don't know what to think of the Brown situation anymore.

On rivals list of predictions, one of the recruiting guys predicts Brown will go to Kansas State.

Major red flag. Brown better distance himself from this guy or else he COULD wind up with nothing. I hope the NCAA is currently working on rules to ban this type of activity. Completely inappropriate by profiting off of a recruit - bad scoobies!! It's not right.

The article really makes me wonder how good BB would be for team chemistry. Butler is a bad influence.
The article also makes Miami look dirty. Watch for them to get busted eventually.

They won't get busted, just like Michigan, USC, Oklahoma, Texas, etc won't. Hell look how much it took for Alabama to get put on probation...if the NCAA finds that much dirt on another program they get the death penalty

That is the CFL article. Talk about ridiculous. Butler needs to leave Brown alone already.
