Ha! just proves what an idiot this Butler guy is. How can someone with such a bright future trust their recruitment to a guy whose past job resume includes liquor store employee and rapper? Whoever made the Maurice Clarett comparison may have it right here.

makes me qustion Bryce Brown and his decision making, i mean come on this buttler guy is crazy and he doesn't even try to hide it..

Wow. What an eye opener. If half of what is said in that article is true, the Oregon coaches should run away from BB as quickly as possible. Me first guys usually don't pan out and they're poison for team chemistry. Oregon may be better off without the drama. We have good backs now, a good one already committed for next year, and Chip's O is heaven for RB's so we'll keep getting good ones.

I feel sick to my stomach. Perhaps we're better off without Brown coming here. I don't want Butler hanging around.

Edit: I've been thinking about this from a PR (public relations) perspective. If I was Oregon, I would pull the offer and make sure everybody knows we pulled the offer. Be the first University to drop this kid & you're basically telling the world we don't need his kind on our team. Why keep getting jerked around? Cut him loose. To have an "advisor" that makes idiotic statements and makes money off of you, DUMP THIS KID. I get a bad feeling & if I was Oregon, you prove to future recruits that this is not acceptable and even if you are the #1 RB in the country, we don't need you.

Right on. Oregon does NOT need this kind of garbage going on with the football program. Talk about sanction-bait. This guy Butler is a piece of s*** of the highest order and has no business whatsoever setting foot in Eugene. I agree, loudly and publicly pull Brown's offer and explain to any media outlet who will listen that in no way, shape or form will Oregon deal with "advisors" bent on exploiting high school kids. This is completely disgusting.

The NY Times article also says that Bryce Brown's father is a foundation member with Butler's Potential Players organization. Sounds like there's a bunch of hinky stuff going on here.

It would be great to see a player with the talent of Brown as a Duck, but it seems he has surrounded himself with a guy who will probably end up being bad news for Brown. I am not sure I want the potential problems of Brown and Butler in Eugene. I would rather get a 2-3 top level RB's in 2010.

You got it. And it needs to come from Chip Kelly. He needs to do it so he gets the jump on Butler. If Chip tells the kid and lags behind the announcement, then Butler will surely say they dropped Oregon and the point will have been lost as it will be perceived we only made the announcement AFTER Brown dumped us. There's got to be a way to get the announcement out simultaneously or just before Brown is notified. Have the right media outlets on the line when you make that call.

In today's instant access world, perception is reality. Oregon needs to lead the charge on this one. Sometimes you just have to take a stand & do what's best for your program. You don't think we won't get recruits AND their families lined up at our door next year? YOU BET WE WILL.

A player should not come with this kind of baggage coming out of high school. I liked it better with Pryor; at least he didn't have any hanger-ons charging money for updates and saying he would go to the CFL. Pryor handled his recruitment better than Brown has with Butler. If Oregon was to pull Brown's offer (which I don't think will happen), it would send a shocking message to a lot of top recruits that you better be team first and not me first or you won't get a sniff from Oregon. I don't think that Kelly and Bellotti are liking being jerked around by Butler but are putting up with it because Brown could seriously help them next year.

Do you know what the sad thing is..............I get the idea that Bryce is a good kid. I think that this Butler cat is a scum bag and is going to end up isolating Bryce so bad that this will end up having a lasting effect on him. To hear that the Brown boys didn't practice with the team and took themselves out of games so they could "protect" themselves is a disgrace to high school football.

I agree pull the offer and focus on getting three or four good RB's next year. We have one down and with the numbers Blount is going to put up next year we will be able to recruit a couple of big backs. Time to show what kind of classy university we are and steer away from this trouble...........Go Ducks

Then again if he chooses Oregon watch all of us go nuts.
