If blazers don't get a big at #6, and the illinois center isn't available at 11. I would love for Portland to look at Moultrie.

I've been reading that as well, but it does seem like Olshey will only bring him to Portland if he fits in with what they're doing. If he doesn't, I fully expect his rights to be traded on or shortly after the Draft. The same could probably be said for Victor Claver, but it kind of sounds like he may be a year away from coming to the NBA.

On a side note, it would be cool if the Blazers could sign Brooks. I think he's still got it in him.

He'll only be a restricted FA, which means PHX could match any offer and retain him. It seems likely they'll retain him at all costs due to Nash's status as an unrestricted FA.

brooks would be a decent gunner off the bench. i wouldn't want him starting.

then again, i suppose we did start raymond felton for an entire season last year. it's not like we could do worse.

Rockets apparently looking to trade Lowry for a top 10 pick. Wonder if they'd take 11? I wouldn't mind picking him up. When he was healthy last year I think he was great. Then maybe we could move Felton and something for a 16-20 pick and still pick up a pretty decent prospect there.

Felton is unrestricted FA so Blazers no longer hold his rights to trade

They are really looking to move up since they just traded Chase Buddinger to Minnesota for their 1st rounder, meaning they now have 3 picks to now package in any other trade. Rumors are they want to move up to 5 to get Drummond.

Heard on Van Pelt that they plan on making a run at Dwight Howard with all of those assets that they are compiling. Doesn't make sense because as soon as those rumors came out, Howard said he has no intention of signing a long term deal. As great of a player as Howard is though, he is a huge prima donna and his act is getting really old. It makes you appreciate the humble guys who just want to win.

With Batum getting a near-max deal from Minnesota, I'm not so sure that Portland will retain him. To me, he's just not worth nearly $12 million a year. As for Hibbert, it sounds like a toss-up if Indiana will match Portland's offer.

I think if Portland gets Hibbert they will match Batum and go for broke hoping that at least one of the new rookies over performs.

I just see the offer that Batum got from Minnesota as way too much for what he's worth. I think Portland could possibly do fine with a cheaper FA option or go with one of the young SFs on the roster already.

Portland has to overpay people... always have.

They can't afford to let Batum walk for nothing. At the very least they gotta do a sign and trade and get something back.

Only way that works is if he doesn't sign that offer sheet from Minnesota, which he's leaning towards doing. If they get Hibbert, they could possibly let Batum walk, since I'm not sure he's the part that will get Portland over the hump and into contention in the West. He's a decent enough player, but at $12-13 million, I don't think so. There are other SFs out there that could provide some defense and spot-up 3-point shooting that would replace Batum.
