Ducks Looking at Another Top Recruit From Kansas

Post by briarduck »

Sounds like we are after this guy...

QB Blake Bell Ht: 6-6 Wt: 215

Here an article on him...
http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/TheRec ... _20_offers

Best quote...
"He's got a lot of strengths," said Alan Schuckman, Bishop Carroll's coach. "I don't really know where to start. There's the physical aspect of being 6-6 and being able to run like he can ... He has a good understanding of the game, that's what I keep hearing from coaches. He can see those second and third options, and he has the ability to read the hot route. We do a lot of things that a lot of colleges do."

say it with me Oke-La-homa,
kid is very talented however I don't think he is even in our top 3 for qb recruits on CK's wish list.

Maybe this is why he's not so high on CK's list:

http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiti ... son%3d2010

"He reminds us a little of a taller Jake Locker from the 2006 class only Bell isn't as physically imposing in terms of his frame just yet."

So he's not as ready to take a hit , and can't find an open receiver? (Well, he probably loves his Mom.)

"Overall, the best thing about Bell is his upside to be much better in two to three years than he is now which excites coaches with his high ceiling for development."

Say it together now... Project!

Oh I agree jhop, I prefer the others guys on our list as well but he's a nice addition to our recruits we are after...

And wounded a taller JL wow he just sounds better to me now...and we can groom a project with our depth!

He's an Oklahoma lean at this point and CK was rumored to not be as interested as his running abilities were not up to his liking. Good in HS, but maybe not quite D-1. Don't get me wrong this kid is good and CK is UBER-selective on his qb's, right now I know he has both detroit prospects higher on his board than this kid, and possibly a few others.
I see this kid as more of a Colt McCoy slinger with just enough running ability versus an ideal dual threat.
