Is that why Pittsburgh Steelers players have said that they cannot wait to see Dixon get some serious playing time? Who the hell cares if they run the spread offense? It doesn't mean a qb has a bad arm, won't be able to read defenses in the NFL, etc. Recruits need to not pay attention to this crap and just look at the success Oregon has had. Would McShay prefer Heisman trophy winner Troy Smith from Ohio State?

Also, it's crap like this that people like Tahj Boyd pay attention to and then decide to go to school elswhere. They wouldn't dare publish an article on how deadly Oregons rushing attack is or how offenses in the SEC are boring. Unbelievable!!!! Apparently Bryce Brown missed all of the articles like this one showing the numerous reasons why Kiffin is a dispicable human being.

There is still a misconception among NFL types and writers that spread offense QBs can't compete at the next level. They think that it is too gimmicky and that QBs lack the ability to read defenses since they are always in shotgun. I would say that the spread enhances a QBs ability to read defenses since they can see the whole field and they have to think faster while in the shotgun. NFL teams, like the Patriots, are starting to incorporate spread offense components into their offenses so I don't see why it wouldn't be good to invest in some of these QBs.

In his defense, what quarterback from Oregon has actually done something in the pros in the last ten years? Smith, Joey, Fife, Feeley, Clemens, Dixon... None of them has been a successful starter. Maybe Clemens or Dixon will be, but that's a pretty awful record, especially considering three of those QB's were first day draft picks and two were top five overall.

Yeah, but what about a school like Ohio State? It's not a reason to knock Oregon. Just the fact that all of those qb's have gotten NFL playing time is pretty significant. Also, by no means does it mean that they weren't prepared for the NFL. It's pretty rare to have a successful career as a QB in the NFL.

Also, look at the school all the experts love: LSU. Other than Jamarcus Russell(who stinks) what other qb's have they had in the NFL lately? The bottom line: Oregon has had more qb's in the nfl than a lot of teams, and there is no need to single them out.

This is what happens when your team is popular and their QBs don't preform at the next level!

Honestly, this doesn't bother me as much as it would have in the past. We've shown that we can do the job of getting QB's to the NFL. Of coarse I would love to see them succeed, but that is up to them. Whether they are good or bad, I will have fond memories of them playing at Autzen.

Why? When was the last time a team was glad when they seriously invested in an Oregon QB?

How many other schools have QBs bust in the NFL? Not just Oregon.......

Like I said though, a team like Ohio State hasn't had success in a long time as far as qb's in the NFL yet they got Pryor. IMO, the article is a crappy excuse to pick on Oregon.

A sixth round pick is not a major investment. And Dixon has yet to really do anything. I think he will, but still.

And yeah, he didn't need to call us out. But we've made ourselves an easy target. We have had more busts than an average school
