2010 Running Backs

Post by yeahboyd »

In light of the recent news I believe that the ducks will now look to sign three running backs for the 2010 class. I would not be surprised to see Brennan Clay get the offer that he is hoping for from us. The ducks are targeting a lot of national running backs but look for us to try to lock up some of these guys. We already have a stud in Ethan Grant so we will sign two more.

Brennan Clay - more of an all purpose back with decent size

Espn updates say that we lead for Clay, if we offer good chance we lock him up.

James McConnico - Has offer, has us as his leader (according to ESPN). Home run threat every time he touches the ball, strength is question mark.

Malcolm Jones - medium chance, we have offered is an elite player and will garner a lot of offers. No. 12 nationally according to rivals. 5 Star. Will visit Jones could be the power back of the future. Look for Oregon to start making a serious push for Jones. Stanford is our early competition

All three of these kids are from Cali and that can only help us. We have a lot to offer with only Alston, and James coming back for the 2010 season. Let's hope for the best. I know this is old news for some, but always nice to keep in perspective.

I wanna see some Malcolm Jones videos. I also want to see videos from camps. Those are usually free on Rivals.

Don't think we have much of a shot. Here is his top 5.

ESPNU 150 Watch Lister Michael Dyer has Arkansas, LSU, Auburn, Alabama and Oklahoma in his top five, affiliate Web site CrimsonConfidential.com reports.

He said of the group, "I just got to know the coaches of those teams, and I've been to their campuses."

Several other programs such as Ole Miss, Tulsa, Tennessee, Stanford, Texas A&M and Louisiana Tech have also extended offers to Dyer.

the 5-foot-9, 200-pounder rushed for over 2,000 yards and scored 21 touchdowns last fall, earning recognition as ESPN Rise's Gatorade Player of the Year in Arkansas.

I personally am curious about DJ Jones out of Dennison, Texas

It's still early in the game. I don't remember Tenn. being in Browns top 5 so any thing can happen as long as we keep recruiting.

Here is some amateur video of the Compton TarBabes... McConico is #12. Check out his break away TD at the 1:19 mark of this first video. (They were evidently experimenting with some spread formations for some nefarious reason...) 8 carries/266 yards/4Tds... Long carry of 90 yards.

Check out the running back (Long Beach Poly Senior 2* RB, #23, Daveon Barner, at the 1:15 point of this video... He rolls over a would-be tackler, lands on his feet (Knees never came close to the ground) and heads for the endzone... Remind you of anyone?
