June Jones to ASU
is what is being rumored at this point. That would leave UCLA as the only P12 school needing a coach. The run and shoot that Jones uses might be helpful for us with getting Foster too.

Wow, seems like a desperate move to me. Jones has been around forever, and has never done a thing at a big time level. Good luck to him, but IMHO this just keeps ASU as a 7-9 win team year in and year out. They will never be a threat to win the south with him as HC.

Rich Rod and Leach were much much better hires.

Jones has orchestrated 2 of the biggest turnarounds from complete loser to winner and conference champion at 2 different schools. His last year at Hawaii he beat Chris Petersen and BSU and went to a BCS bowl game.
If your program is in the dumpster, Jones is a proven fixer.

With the addition of even more airborne offenses coming to the Pac12, quality DBs and fast LBs are going to be a necessity. I'm feeling phat about that.

Just one more giant reason why we need a change on defense. We won't get away with running the same schemes against better coaches.nehalem wrote:With the addition of even more airborne offenses coming to the Pac12, quality DBs and fast LBs are going to be a necessity. I'm feeling phat about that.

Sumlin, now Jones. Is the same guy running this search that ran our basketball coach search?EncinitasDuck wrote:Reports now coming out that the deal is off. Jones heading back to SMU.

Somebody pulled the trigger too fast on this speculation. An interview doesn't mean it is even close to a done deal, unless your first name is Urban.

Re: June Jones to ASU
Who's going to have a new coach hired first? ASU or UCLA?
