Wisconsin stayed in top 10 with a loss, kinda surprising but IMO deserved

Agreed, they were two hail mary passes from being undefeated in regular season, and if we're being honest the RB could have gone either way.lukeyrid13 wrote:Wisconsin stayed in top 10 with a loss, kinda surprising but IMO deserved

Oregon was -3 turnovers from undefeated... Them are the breaks, sweetheart!uodux1212 wrote:Agreed, they were two hail mary passes from being undefeated in regular season, and if we're being honest the RB could have gone either way.lukeyrid13 wrote:Wisconsin stayed in top 10 with a loss, kinda surprising but IMO deserved

If LSU could have got 3-4 FGs in, I'm sure the margin would have been much closer.

You mean -3 turnovers and a missed field goal...FWIW you can’t say take the turnovers out of that game and that would of created a win for y’all in the opener. Who is to say that the would be series following those fumbles would of ended in points.woundedknees wrote:Oregon was -3 turnovers from undefeated... BTW, Bud, I wasn't trying to take away from LSU... I was just pointing out the obvious discrepancy in the Wisky comment.
Great season by LSU. Inconsistency in performance killed the momentum for several teams at inauspicious times.
At least the Ducks aren't on the same page, bowl wise, as Cal and Washington.

I dont consider UO's "bad breaks" in the same catagory as Wisky's... freakshow hail mary passes are a lot differnet than fumbling. Like Bud said, there's no guarantee we score on those possessions. We got beat fair and square IMO, Wisky on the other hand had legit bad breaks.... thats football.

I didn’t take it like that….just pretty much saying what uodux just did. Whisky was literally a tip ball and half a inch from beating MSU

45 day layoff between games is a joke because I believe it creates "competitive atrophy." Nowhere else at any level of football do we see such a mockery made of the game all for the sake of making more money. Yes, the early bowls are typically crappy games because they are two crappy teams playing one another. Take the top 8, quarterfinals in mid-December, Semi's Jan 1, NC a week later. Teams get an extra week to prepare, heal, practice with only a week off for the NC game. You think that wouldn't drive some serious ratings for ESPN and that fans of all conferences wouldn't go bonkers for?
I'm just left with an overwhelming sense of not knowing who really IS the best team in the Nation because I think Ok St could have passed for enough scores against either LSU or Bama and Oregon might very well have done the same too. Not Stanford but USC certainly would have been interesting to see against Bama or LSU too. Ditto WVU and really, who doesn't think that Boise couldn't have dink and dunked it all night against either of those D's with that much prep time?

Oklahoma State got beat by Iowa State….nuff said.I'm just left with an overwhelming sense of not knowing who really IS the best team in the Nation because I think Ok St could have passed for enough scores against either LSU or Bama and Oregon might very well have done the same too. We actually already played and beat WVU and I believe y’all. Of course as rematches go…last night shows that they don’t always play out the same. Though in actuality we had the same game –our three field goals last time and them making the ones that they missed the first time.
That leaves USC and Boise…Boise stumbled against TCU’s defense that is nowhere near Bama or LSU’s D so I doubt that they would “dink and dunked it” all night against us or Bama…as far as USC goes…well…if they beat y’all again next year (and trust me I don’t think they will) they will have a shot at proving themselves next year against our D minus big Mo.
People confuse the ability to put up large numbers against mediocre defenses in a back in fourth high scoring games as being a good team. The two best teams played last night.

How come it doesn't work both ways?Bud Lee wrote:People confuse the ability to put up low numbers against mediocre offenses in a back in fourth low-scoring games as being a good team.
