Hell of a transfer, sounds like they are giving up a 1st round pick

25 pick for a 24yo just entering his prime. Doesn't sound to bad as a trade.

But one who is very injury-prone and can be a locker room malcontent if things aren't going well. Decent trade but it'll be a wait-and-see approach if this works out.buckmarkduck wrote:25 pick for a 24yo just entering his prime. Doesn't sound to bad as a trade.

Re: Percy Harvin to the seahawks
Have to strongly disagree with everything you just wrote. He missed 3 games before last year, when he had a sprained ankle and missed 8 games. Rumors are his coached forced him onto the IR, and he could have come back. 2nd part about being a "locker room malcontent," that's also false. Have heard numerous reports that it's actually the opposite, he is so competitive and works so hard in the weight room and film room that he has issues with guys who aren't that way.greenyellow wrote:But one who is very injury-prone and can be a locker room malcontent if things aren't going well. If anyone believes his teammates had any issues with him all you have to do is read this tweet from A. Peterson. "Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson The best all around player I ever seen or you'll ever see! Goes to Seattle! I feel like I just got kicked in the stomach. Several times!!!"

Interesting, according to the vikings site, it sounds like he told the coaches Ponder isn't good enough to start (anyone with a brain knows this is a fact) and the HC got mad and put him on IR for the rest of the year.

great trade for seattle. steep price, but i was advocating taking a wide receiver in the first round anyway (i was targeting keenan allen). percy harvin is a hell of a lot better than keenan allen...
harvin/rice/tate, damn. some nice weapons for russell wilson.

Agree. I don't follow any particular NFL team, but this is a great trade for Seattle.oregontrack wrote:great trade for seattle. steep price, but i was advocating taking a wide receiver in the first round anyway (i was targeting keenan allen). percy harvin is a hell of a lot better than keenan allen...

Harvin is a major impact player, when healthy.
“If everybody in this room just want to be real with themselves, this game could have went either way,” he said. “We turned the ball over a lot. We beat ourself. Just be real with yourself right now. We beat ourself.”

Look where Seattle is at, on their way up. This is exactly the point in time where you make moves like this. Yes, it's a little steep. But Harvin is a baller.
Perfect move for Seattle.

He tended to have a lot if migraines in Minnesota, but in Washington his favorite medication for such a problem is a bit more abundant and accepted. Hopefully he does well, it will be interesting to watch the division next year.

I was excited for Seattle at first. Though the more I looked into it the Vikings might be the team who got the better end of the deal... Time will tell.

Re: Percy Harvin to the seahawks
I think it is one of those rare trades that work really well for both teams. Seahawks fills a need with a player that is MVP quality when he plays and is just now getting into his prime. Could they realistically get a player like him with that pick...prolly not.
And the Vikings are not going to replace him with that pick, they are going to fill another need and it is a gamble because you never know how someone will , or if they will develop as a NFL player. Example, Brady Quinn was a 22 pick his year, has not exactly been a explosive player.

Re: Percy Harvin to the seahawks
I'd be excited if I was a Seahawks fan. He is easily one of the most dynamic players in the NFL and is a legit difference maker. Scary thinking of what they could do with Wilson, Lynch and Harvin in the backfield with a read option. My only concern would be the money he is going to command with his new contract combined with the fact that so many of the Seahawks core players (Wilson, Bobby Wagner, Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, KJ Wright etc) are still playing under rookie contracts and will be looking to sign lucrative extensions in the coming few seasons. If the GM is able to find a way to make this work, then Seattle will be a scary team for the foreseeable future but it is hard to believe that they will be able to retain all of these upper echelon players. Also consider that Seattle has guys like Sidney Rice and Marshawn Lynch whom have sizable cap figures in 2013-2015 so they will need to be restructured or cut. Regardless though, this seems like a good trade for the Seahawks. And considering I hate all things Seattle, it pains me to see them do something like this.

Re: Percy Harvin to the seahawks
Yeah I expect Rice to be forced to renegotiate or be waived after this season
