I'm going with Frac Daddy who has some very good bloodlines. You go back far enough and you find Secretariat.Bud Lee wrote:Anyone have a good pick?

Kentucky Derby
My boss is a buddy with the owner of Frac Daddy. Not too long ago, the owner was a regular guy struggling to make ends meet. Invested in a start up company who decided to target the Balken oil fields in North dakota in some fashion and hit it big. Real big. Dude is seriously loaded. Thus the name Frac Daddy. For Fracking (sp?)

Dude is a 50/1....BUT...scores high on my Handicap Formula. That's worth a 10 bet to win.

Re: Kentucky Derby
The outside position hurts but as long as he can get a solid start to get out a bit, he's got the pedigree to outsprint everyone at the end. When I was younger I didn't understand how involved some of my family was in horse racing. Some of my grandparents and great-grandparents were regular entries from Longacres down to Santa Anita. My first mount was one of the brood mares on Grousemont farm and a few years back I worked as a wrangler in Colorado for fun and one of my guide horses was in Cowboys & Aliens (if you watch closely, the "indians" are riding with saddles because some of them couldn't ride bareback, lol)Bud Lee wrote:Duck07 wrote:I'm going with Frac Daddy who has some very good bloodlines. Old family recipe...Muddle mint and two table spoons of sugar in the bottom of a regular sized rocks glass, then pack glass with crushed ice (I like to use sonic ice) , fill the glass with a nice smooth bourbon (it is sacrilegious for a southerner to do so but Seagram’s 7 , though not a bourbon, is an excellent whiskey to use, just don’t tell my momma) . Give it two quick shakes, and it’s done. Should garnish with fresh mint at the top.
Quick version, boil you up some simple syrup with some fresh mint leaves. Mix 1:3 with some bourbon.

Re: Kentucky Derby
Thanks for the reciple. Upon further review, my wife and I are going to go to our favorite watering hole and watch the Derby while sipping mint juleps. I am pulling for Normandy Invasion.Bud Lee wrote:DAT#6 wrote:Thanks Bud. I was trying to think of a new drink to try-mint julep it is.Bud Lee wrote:Anyone have a good pick?

I heard that Rick Pitino owned one of them, but I'm not sure which one.
