Early Report

Post by Mops »

Doesn't sound like we got any commits but it does appear we had a pretty good group of guys and from what I've been told it was a pretty fun affair.

So far I've been able to confirm

Who is Nielson? I haven't been able to find anybody by that name in Rivals' or Scout's databases.

Mops, Josh Harper was also there. He said he got to hang out with his brother (obviously Matthew Harper).

That's who I'd guess, but I'm not 100% sure. Mops would have to confirm.

I have been PMing MOPS about the fact that Oregon has shown huge interest in Derek Neilson. He
has about 12 schools showing interest. The Ducks have to lock him up quickly as his dream school
Michigan is going to offer or already has. This is the kind of instate talent the Ducks can't afford to
lose.

Would he be willing to greyshirt, or is that not an option with him?

Crosswhite ( OT ) attended the Spring Game. I may be able to get a report from a friend that is close to the Cathedral program.

In addition to names Mops gave in the original post, a poster on Rivals said he saw the following recruits at the Spring Game:

Tyson Coleman (2011 recruit)
Colin Porter
Josh Shaw
Josh Harper
Gilbert St. Louis
Austin Lunsford

Alex Crosthwaite apparently was there as well, in addition to a player from the Ducks' last recruiting class (Daryle Hawkins). This poster also said there were definitely more recruits there than he listed, but he couldn't identify them.

Got some promising news on Harper's trip that I'll share in chat.

I'm in class right now so I won't be able to talk much.

How about 6 '4 275 benches over 350 and alot of scout took notice when
watching Sidoway last year. This kid may not be evaluated yet but has at
least 6 offers. Stanford, Michigan, Purdue, Boise State and and a few others.
Bellotti and Greatwood have been in house several times and really want this
young man.

Vinnyknuckles,

Would you greyshirt if you had the grades to get into Stanford and they wanted you???
Just saying a good kid from instate that grew up tailgating at Ducks games.
