We never offered, but he would have been an excellent backup plan.

I dont like it, the QB class was thin to start with, getting thinnner by the day and Oregon MUST get a QB from this class. Not that Walker was option 1,2, or 3, but when 1-2-3 are gone and you miss, 4-5-6 already have made plans. I personally liked Walker better than others.

Agreed. I think Oregon will get at least 1 QB this class, I just hope it's not someone they have to settle for.

And we won't usually get that lucky. And we didn't really settle on him. We pulled in CHarper and DT in that class.

Yeah, but at that point, we didn't need a qb like we do this time around. Oregon had already signed other qb's. Besides, let's see what Masoli does this season.

The thing that frustrates me is that Oregon continues to miss out on a lot of these guys just because of where they are located. On the field results and winning don't seem to be as important for these kids. Kansas has had one good season over a long period of time. Meanwhile, Oregon has had several really good seasons since 2000 yet they still have trouble getting some of these top players. With all of the talent out there, there is no reason why Oregon shouldn't be able to bring in at least one of the best qb's and rb's available every year.

I wonder if Coach Spread Kelly may have to prove he won’t blow through the QB depth chart every season before any more talented passers parents and/or “mentors” jump on the bandwagon? It was interesting that the QB from Mo. said we were going to be throwing it more.

This season I am rather optimistic about the health of the Ducks’ QB’s. Masoli seems like the toughest guys on the team. The guys built like a tank. He reminds me of Walter Payton the way he initiates contact rather than absorbs it.

The Spread is the offense of the future, as the West Coast Offense was in it’s day. The last few mythical Nationals Champions have been Spread Offense teams. The NFL is a copycat league. The Wild Cat Offense is a prime example. Near the end of the season the Patriots ran 80% of their offense from the shotgun. Take Vince Young, LaMarcus Russell, Michael Vick and Tim Tebow with coaches U. Meyers, R. Rodriquez , M. Martz and of course C. Kelly and that team would score points. The key would be depth. By the time the 4th string QB went down, the 1st stringer would be ready to go.
