Status of DucksAttack

Post by jhopduck »

I know a lot of people are worried about what will happen to this site. Obviously myself and Mops are spending more time on DT. The big kickoff has a lot to do with that. Our post count here has been lower from that but also due to the "dead period" we are in right now. Coaches are on vacation.
This all FREE website still has 2 writers from a premium website on board, the admin from a premium board posting info, and all of you great posters that contribute. I know it's been a change, but it will stay one of the best free boards around.
I, like Mops invite you to join DT, $5/month, that's worth it for one week IMO. You should read some of the stories we have. And the next few I have are going to be UNREAL!
I'll share what I can here, so will Mops, it will be a learning curve to find out what our boundaries are, but all in all, we will have chats again, podcasts, all the goodies.
Please stay around, and trust me this site isn't going anywhere. This is what got me addicted to recruiting in the first place, was this site, and it's posters.
Signed Jhop, Mops, Tk, AJ_U.

Appreciate it jhop. Remember your roots! You just a regular messege boarder like us at one point. I was a little worried at one point but honestly, I'm really thinking of joining DT. Still gotta think it over but $5 a month is pretty good for how much you guys pump out over there.

Just from what I have seen so far at DT, I am really impressed. The writing and the news and information that comes out compared to Rivals and Scouts is top notch. The Lattimore information broke at DT 2 days before Rivals or Scouts, and Lattimore was even in the chat the other night. I have already canceled my Scouts membership and will probably cancel my Rivals membership. Rivals and Scouts has more overall information, members, news stories, etc. but most likely as time passes DT will provide more stuff.

DT seems to be the best place for duck info. Not only is it cheaper than most other competing sites, but they release an array of information.

I am sure I've developed some bad blood here and rightfully so as I have kinda gone MIA. I haven't done it on purpose. I am just super busy with DT, writing for an Alabama website, getting more hours at the radio station I work at, enjoying my summer, and trying to figure out my life. lol. excuses I know, but know this. I still lurke, I still post time to time and this is my baby...never did I think making a blog and then a message board would grow into what DA has turned into.

I know DT has taken a bad turn of events website wise but I think we needed to dump it and go into full rebuild mode and let this board be what it is best known as...

It's all good Mops. May-July is probably the best time to be away anyway, since there usually isn't much football stuff going on. I bet things will pick up in about a month.

Free website = No conflicts of interest.

When I read a premium content website, I feel like they are just telling me what I want to hear to get my subscription dues, aka, scout and rivals.com.

That's why I landed here, free, nothing but fun-loving hardcore Duck fans who want the skinny for the love of the game, nothing else.

If we still had karma, I'd give you some. It's sad to see this board has slowed down because so many of the guys that were giving us info are now getting paid over at DT. I guess I can't fault them for it, but it still sucks.

Well the reality is DT has more resources than any of us can imagine, this board will remain free, but obviously adding resources enables Mops and myself to contact players like Lattimore and company. Sure some sites sell stories to create hits, it's a business, but keep in mind it's also news about Oregon.
I for one email every story I write to that person interviewed so they can see that I was truthful in the information, and in hopes that the next time I call they feel comfortable talking to me.

If anyone knows me from DSA and posting on this board under the user name Duckyfan giving tidbits frequently, they know that I am blunt and will tell it how it is. I know we've already been accused by some on scout of making up stories to be better than they are (Which is hilariously inaccurate) but DT will not tell anyone what they want to hear for more clicks. DT's goal is to generate subscriptions AND keep those subscriptions every year through excellent coverage of all things Oregon. We wouldn't do that very well if we make up crap, lol.

NCDucks, I'm enjoyed your posts here. You're obviously a die-hard duck fan and I love it, same with me, jhop, Matt, and the other writers over at DT. Wish you would come over cause I love your positive attitude but if not, it's cool, I like posting on this site as well. Just saying, half the price of the other sites and twice the content is hard to beat. Are you saying none of the following articles in the last week would appeal to you as a die hard duck fan...

Oregon Football:
Oregon's RB Recruiting over the years
Who will step up on Defensive Line?
Oregon QB Breakdown
Q&A with former Duck S Michael Fletcher

Oregon Basketball:
A look at PG Malcolm Armstead
Breaking down F Jeremy Jacob
Oregon Basketball Recruiting Update

Recruiting:
Top 25 Northwest Prospects
Nation's Top RB wants Oregon offer
Scholarship Breakdown- Offense
Top JC RB Mike Hayes has favorite
George Uko back from camps
NC Stars Visit Oregon
Lester Fontenette has 8 offers
Anthony Jefferson narrowing his list
OL Ben Gottschalk has 6 offers

And that's just in the last week.

Here's the deal NC. I'll pay for your first month of subscription. After that, if you don't think it's the top site for everything Ducks sports, that's ok, don't come back. I'm not trying to force-sell you or anyone else, just think if you guys gave it a chance, you'd love it over there. We have big plans throughout the season...

Player Interviews
Coaches Interviews
Ed-Duck "where are they now" interviews
NFL Players Interviews
Pre-Fall Camp previews up the wazoo
Full Fall Camp Coverage
Game previews, midviews, reviews
Recruiting 101
Recruiting Interviews up the wazoo
Visit weekend previews and follow-ups
Ducks in the NFL weekend recaps
Oregon Football 101
Weekly Chat Sessions, sometimes with special guests (Marcus Lattimore was in our first chat session last week)
etc. etc. etc.

Email me at baciami21@yahoo.com if you're up for it.

I think everyone's done a great job on this board, especially compared to other forums and considering we're all homers.

Personally, I'm way too cheap to pay for any Website but if I did, DT would be number one on the list.
