NC group update

Post by jhopduck »

I did a pretty big story on DT with the big 4 King, McCain, Allen, and Harris.
I can't post the story but I'll share a bit.
Allen told me Oregon and Alabama are equal right now.
May make his decision in a couple weeks, he was pretty sure but not 100% sure.
McCain still loves Oregon
King still has Cal on top, but has added Bama into the mix now.
Harris, still interested in Oregon/Cal/Clemson mostly. But he's a 2011 player so he will still take visits next year. (Likely goes where Allen does)

Any time table for Allen's decision date Jhop?

Perhaps Sept. 4th might be a good day for him to set up a presser :D

Thanks JHop! I have a feeling this is going to be a great recruiting year! Gut instinct...we're due.

Allen would like to decide before the start of his football season. That has always been his plan, however, yesterday was the first time he wavered and thought he might not be ready by then.
I will restrain to offering my belief as to where he is headed until I am more comfortable. This will be a potentially huge coup for us, or could fizzle, really hinging a lot on Keenan's decision.

We have cooled on Scales, but he is not out of the picture. Scales, like the others, will be tied to Allen's decision.

Sucks that Bama is now in the mix for King as well, would be happy with any of these guys but would obviously prefer all of them.

Jhop, if Allen and King decide to go to Alabama, do you still think we could take McCain?

I notice he didn't include Alabama when he discussed his top teams.

Thanks.

McCain likes Oregon and Bama not so much. Should we miss on King/Allen I think McCain would still come. But, if we did get Allen, I think McCain would DEFINITELY come then.

God I want these guys to come to Oregon so bad...We need studs for the future...We already have some but we just need to keep adding and adding...We need to get to the point where It's a 1st round pick or 2 every year to go along with other guys going throughout the draft

That's what I was thinking. King seems all Cal at this point though, it'll be interesting to see what he does if Allen picks UO or Alabama.

Unfortunately for King I see it coming down to a Cal/Bama battle regardless of Allen. But I'd like to be wrong.

I wonder what the shocking part is. That the star would/is choosing Oregon, or it's someone that we don't know about that has Oregon on his radar?

hot skippy!......which of the NC guys could feasible compete in two sports here at oregon?
Football and track?
Football and basketball?
Football and baseball?
or
Football and club ping pong?

hmmm....
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."
