I never found it smart to flirt with the Ducks before committing to UW... those players simply don't tend to perform against us for whatever reason.

If it is true, he sure is going to hate getting blown out for the next four years against the Ducks. Sark must have told him some good things to convince him Washington was somehow a better place to go over Oregon.

Let him go. I feel strongly our staff wasn't exactly pining for him to be a Duck.

We should get Wheaton and maybe Hall or others. I would have loved Johnson though.

Steve Sarkisian had a nice weekend. Got 3 commits already, and it sounds like JJ is a husky too, so that makes 4.
Trufant IMO was their best pickup of the weekend.

And in terms of losing JJ (if true), it's not that big of a deal. He is a great athlete, but if we run away with Jackson, Gaines, Wheaton, and Hall I'll be very pleased.

Espn threw up a story already like it was official. Don't know.

They must have jumped the gun also because it lists them as high and Oregon as mediumljginger wrote:Rivals has Johnson committed to UW as of yesterday!

Ye, that is weird because when I wrote that, he was committed on his profile! Interesting...

You have to think there is more to this than a simple typo.... I wouldn't hold my breath on landing JJ. Let's just hope that we do end up with Gaines and DJackson. I am having my doubts about them as well....

Re: Realdawg reporting James Johnson Commit to UW
Rivals latest Husky trip report for JJ's just confirms more of what I've thought. He said he had a great trip there, but he didn't commit. Says he wants to wait until LOI to announce. Some good sources are also now confirming his Oregon offer was "very conditional'. Looks like he's going to wait and see if Oregon has a spot for him or not. My bet is the coaches are waiting on Wheaton, Gaines & possibly Diante (I think he's ours).
If things go our way then look for Johnson to be a Husky as there will be no room at the inn.
