Status of current commits
Seems that at least 2 commits, Forsyth and Niu, are sticking by the Ducks:

Yeah and Lenoir said "my word is my bond" a month ago when Oregon started struggling and people started calling for Helf's head. This new coaching staff has to re-recruit all of these guys in the weeks leading up to LOI day because the vultures are circling.

Yup, you know they are picking at the bones. I wonder if Nelson and Freeman still considering returning.Duck24 wrote:Yeah and Lenoir said "my word is my bond" a month ago when Oregon started struggling and people started calling for Helf's head. Re: Status of current commits
Popo Aumavae seems to have reaffirmed his commitment on Twitter. None of the other commits besides those mentioned so far have said anything. This is going to be a long off-season and potentially an even longer climb back due to all the potential decommits and transfers.
Edit: From a Rivals interview, sounds like Aumavae will take the rest of his visits but remains committed to Oregon. Johnny Johnson and John Vaka said they'll stick with Oregon for now.

When PJ Fleck took his current job he withdrew the offers to every single recruit and started over with like a month to go before signing day.

Where is Nelson going to go? He has .00001% chance of being drafted if he declares.Alan wrote:Yup, you know they are picking at the bones. If he does that, he'll find out that competing for recruits in the Pac-12 is whole lot different than in the MAC.GrandpaDuck wrote:When PJ Fleck took his current job he withdrew the offers to every single recruit and started over with like a month to go before signing day.

it is my single biggest concern about hiring him. Since it worked out for him that time (he ended up with a better class) he might be tempted to do it again and I think it would be a mistake as you point out.greenyellow wrote:If he does that, he'll find out that competing for recruits in the Pac-12 is whole lot different than in the MAC.GrandpaDuck wrote:When PJ Fleck took his current job he withdrew the offers to every single recruit and started over with like a month to go before signing day.
Just remembered, Anderson also withdrew a bunch of Riley's offers when he took over at OSU.

Re: Status of current commits
The recruiting forum is the deadest I've ever seen it for this time of the year., but justifiably so!!
Hard to follow any commits when I expect most of them to decommit. I want a coach so I can start getting excited for our future.

Re: Status of current commits
Recruiting is dead because there's technically none going on with no staff on the road visiting or working the phones/social media. Whoever they do hire is going to have to scramble to pull in in another 12-14 recruits to fill the class. It's not going to be pretty.UOducksTK1 wrote:The recruiting forum is the deadest I've ever seen it for this time of the year., but justifiably so!!

When there are no coaches who do the recruits contact if they have a question or something?greenyellow wrote:Recruiting is dead because there's technically none going on with no staff on the road visiting or working the phones/social media. Re: Status of current commits
In a Nemec article today, LB Sampson Niu said he's been in contact with some current players to keep up-to-date. He's likely also in a groupchat with several of the other commits. Other than those, they're not getting any official word from the athletic department.FlDuckFan wrote:When there are no coaches who do the recruits contact if they have a question or something?greenyellow wrote:Recruiting is dead because there's technically none going on with no staff on the road visiting or working the phones/social media.
