3* TE Chase Rogers high on Oregon

Post by greenyellow »

3* TE and former Tennessee commit Chase Rogers is visiting later this month. He hasn't had much contact with the staff but has been talking with Darrian McNeal. I'm sure he'll get contacted more once the staff is in place. It sounds like he could commit pretty quickly if the gets the offer and enjoys his visit.

I like his film. Over 1,000 yards as a TE as a senior..nice!

303 NW 12th
From the article, it sounds like he set Mississippi state records for career receiving yards and TD catches. Pretty good for someone playing TE.

Really good size. Good hands. A little slow.

According a quick google search, Witten runs a sub-4.7 . Maybe looks slow compared to NFL players, but that'd be blazing speed for a college tight end. lol

Witten may have run a 4.7 ish coming out of college, but if you just watch him play the last couple of years it appears he could have his 40 timed with a sun dial... Just saying big, athletic, good hands and "want to" will get you a long ways as a TE. LOL

I haven't watched the NFL since the Vikings let Chris Kluwe go for advocating for marriage equality. I have to rely on memories of Witten from 4+ years ago; if he was slow then, he's probably like molasses now.

But back to Rogers, I'll explain my reference points. In terms of athleticism at the position this year, I'd say Baylis was the least athletic of Brown, Mundt, and himself. Now compare Baylis' high school film to Rogers'.

Evan Baylis:

Chase Rogers:

Baylis is 2-3" taller and seems notably more agile.

I imagine they are trying to get at least 2 T.E this class. We are losing 3 to graduation I believe. So hopefully it's Falo and this kid.

Not to derail this thread, but why the eye roll? It's a valid point.

It's kind of dumb, petty reason to stop watching the NFL altogether.

Eh. I don't agree. I mean, I didn't stop watching but I agree with his sentiment. If he wants to stop watching then more power to him.

I stopped watching because it got boring.
