Silent Commits

Post by StevensTechU »

*By its very nature, this thread involves a fair deal of speculation. We're all in agreement on that.*

So it seems that a strategy by either the Ducks potential student-athletes, coaches, or both, is to hold off on announcing commitments until signing day. As such, there appears to be a number of recruits who are keeping their commitment 'silent.' Though they've been mentioned in various threads, here is a thread to keep track of them.

More Substantiated:

Cyrus Habibi-Likio - ATH - 3*

According to the USF Rivals site Burch has pulled his commitment and his Twitter says he will announce Feb 1.

Not linking the Rivals info because it's subscription only.

If the Ducks close all those mentioned this will be a really solid, athletic class.

Judson just decommitted from USF. At 5'9, 205, and a 4.73 40, count him as a running back.

He's faster than 4.7, just watch his tape.

With all these guys seemingly announcing on NSD, it sort of lines up with the rumor that Taggart was wanting them to hold off so Oregon would get a bunch of publicity for their rush of commits.

Yup. He's not 4.4 but he's plenty fast enough.

Watching his video reminds me of Chris Harper. Wonder if he has the speed to play the slot? We could be pretty full at RB.

He's fast. There has been some argument about exactly how fast. If you look at his track numbers, which I found online, his best 100 meter time was in the elite college football speed category. Little slower than Merritt, faster than TajG, if I remember right. Might be wind-aided, but still plenty fast. I honestly think he play some combination of slot, RB, and qb wildcat in special packages. Kind of a Swiss Army Knife. When you're known as, "that fast kid from Florida", by Urban, you're probably fast.

Edit: As a 10th grader he had a PR of 10.77 in the 100. That's elite fast. As a Junior, his best time was 11.24. Maybe getting bigger slowed him down a little or he had nagging injuries.

I can't recall a time where an east coast prospect had Oregon and Oregon State his top 2 schools, just weeks before signing day.

the problem with him is with all the players we have at the rb he will
get more playing time right away at Oregon State. As much as i hate saying that.
however i think he's a duck. He has the history with Willie

Leavitt likes bigger ends in his scheme, so I think so.

Judson ran a 4.73 at the Nike combine (http://www.hudl.com/profile/2693729/bruce-judson, see the Nike verified figures on the left), and a wind-aided 11.24 was his fastest 100m as a junior (http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/A ... 926080#/L0). For comparison's sake, Kani Benoit's fastest 100m was wind-aided 11.04.

Why would I say he runs a 4.7 just to say it?
