Stanford=Scary in the future
Is anyone getting the feeling that Stanford will soon be among the upper division in the Pac-10? They just got an top OL from Miami Northwestern and already have seven 4* or above in their class, plus last year's class had 10. They are starting to get talent that may outclass ours and equal Cal's. Harbaugh has something going down there. They won't be a guaranteed win anymore.

Not only Stanford but UCLA, Washington and Cal will all be competing with the Ducks (hopefully) to overthrow USC. The Ducks will also lose a lot of recruits to all of those schools.

That's why we're recruiting nationally. Recruiting in Cali has become tough and will only become tougher. Not saying that I still don't think it should be our main target, but yeah...gofightingducks wrote:Not only Stanford but UCLA, Washington and Cal will all be competing with the Ducks (hopefully) to overthrow USC. Tough for the Ducks, but it would sure be nice to challenge USC from many fronts!

I still think that we need to get a majority of our commits from CA and the west coast since most recruits tend to stay in the area they are from; it's very rare for a player to actually come across the country to play for Oregon. I'm surprised that we haven't been able to recruit the Las Vegas area better. I can't seem to remember the last time we had a player from the Vegas area. That area produces some good talent.

That's been part of the problem the last 6 or 7 years is that USC only loses 1 or 2 games and the next best team loses 3 or 4. If USC is consistently losing 3 or 4, we may start to see a different conference champion.goducks wrote:Tough for the Ducks, but it would sure be nice to challenge USC from many fronts!

Re: Stanford=Scary in the future
So the P10 will have 6-7 strong teams in the next few years and be perceived as having parity or mediocre because we all have 2-3 losses in conference, meanwhile the SEC will also have 6-7 strong teams but will be considered deep and or strong...

The Cardinal have a bye before our game. Two weeks to prepare for us. Don't like the sound of that.

They're a year out still from being "scary", by my estimation.duckgrad99 wrote:They choked today against Wake Forest.
