Top Recruiting Class
https://www.scout.com/Bolt/Oregon-Curre ... -108540143
As of the Tyler Shough commitment, Oregon with the #1 class on Scout. Sure, their metric values quantity over quality, but it is still hard to imagine!
Where does the Oregon Class end up?
Honestly, if Oregon picks up the 2 ***** prospects, and a few more ****, could they legitimately end up with the top class?

Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

Re: Top Recruiting Class
Is it crazy to think we could end up with the top class in football and basketball? I think we end up with 2-3 5* in football, and we could land Bol Bol and the Canadian via Florida.

I love it, but I don't see us passing Alabama who is good for 5-6 Five Star players.

I'll settle for out-recruiting Washington.

Re: Top Recruiting Class
If you look at projections for how we might fill out the class, with say Hufanga and Devon Williams and a couple of other prospects, it would average out around 5th most years. An unbelievable recruiting class no matter what, but I think that: Bama, Georgia, Ohio St and Penn St finish ahead of us once it's all done. Florida St usually sneaks up there as well.

I would settle for top class in Pac 12...and top 10 nationally.

If I were to guess, I think the class adds:
Sewell
Hufanga
Williams
and I am going to go out on a limb here and say
Waddle
D'Shawn Jamison

Re: Top Recruiting Class
I hope people are seeing why we need to load up at WR this year. Give me Williams, Waddle, Crocker and someone else please.
Preferably (in order):
1) James Copeland
2) Chase Cota
3) Solomon Enis
Personally I think we are young enough at most other positions that we can sacrifice a spot or two to add some more playmakers. We need that talent if we're going to open up the field.

Well, you've forgotten two of the WRs already committed:
Warren Thompson WR Seffner, FL 6'5" 190 5.9 6/19/17
Miles Battle WR Houston, TX 6'4" 178 5.8 7/29/17

And you've all forgotten the guy who's going to make us all ask DAT who? Tre'shaun Harrison. Kid will be an all time great.jimmy12 wrote:Well, you've forgotten two of the WRs already committed:

Re: Top Recruiting Class
I wonder if the extremely conservative play calling will deter some top talent from keeping commitment or deter them from giving Oregon a commitment. I am no scout or anything but I think a coach that does not show confidence in players ability to make play might sway them.

Re: Top Recruiting Class
Come on man, you cant possibly say we had conservative play calling while leading the country in scoring with Herbert. It's actually impossible to do both. In fact I'd say we lost to ASU because we didn't call a conservative enough game. We literally threw the homerun ball more times then I've seen a UO team do maybe ever.GoDucksIn09 wrote:I wonder if the extremely conservative play calling will deter some top talent from keeping commitment or deter them from giving Oregon a commitment. Re: Top Recruiting Class
We have 4 WR's committed, I left out all our commits. Harrison and Lenzy will be playing WR unless needed at DB. My point was more that I would rather take more WR's this class. It's obvious it's possibly the weakest position and maybe the second least deep behind QB.jimmy12 wrote:Well, you've forgotten two of the WRs already committed:
