J.J. Peterson
a linebacker from Georgia, most of his latest tweets are related to ducks.
Jim Leavitt @CoachJimLeavitt: Pepsi and peanuts! Seeing some Dudes!! Heading to Georgia tomorrow! Oregon has a lot of Moxie out there! Go Ducks!

Re: J.J. Peterson
Wasn’t this the guy who was discussed heavily in the summer? I could have sworn there were a few articles saying he was heavily interested and then Andrew Johnson committed leaving people a bit confused.

Re: J.J. Peterson
Seems odd such a touted recruit goes unmentioned. Looks like everyone and their mom has him going to Bama. Maybe nobody thinks we have a chance. Would be a huge huge get!

Interesting how almost everything is ducks relate in general, let alone football related. This would be a huge pickup, come on Jim go get him!!!

Re: J.J. Peterson
Saw him brought up again on DT and there didn't seem to be many answers. He retweets a lot of Duck stuff but hasn't done anything regarding his recruiting since like July. You'd think that he'd be getting lots of attention from all the Southern schools but there's absolutely no activity. It's almost like he either has a scary grade situation that made everyone back off or he's waiting until after his SR season ends (his team is in the semifinals of the playoffs in GA.)

^^^are there not still a couple, three silent commits out their? Has he visited? Is that even a possibility? I do agree though it seems like a grade/attitude thing.

At this point only the coaches and committed players know about any silents since they've been real quiet ever since the season started.rsbgduck wrote:^^^are there not still a couple, three silent commits out their? Doesn't look like it. Appears he only did unofficials to Auburn (twice), Alabama, and Georgia during the summer.Phenom wrote:Did he ever visit?

How often does the top ranked OLB in the nation, a borderline 5-star recruit from the South have such a laid back recruitment? And all the Duck retweets? Man, recruiting is a lot more fun with Willie around. Leavitt is going to be in Georgia anyway, drop by to see this kid. Unlike in years past I don't believe we're running low on official visits in case he wants to take a look at Eugene.

Re: J.J. Peterson
A few months ago there were 5-6 silent commits (according to this board) and 3-4 have since committed. Unless the last couple commits were the remaining ones then there are a few left out there.Phenom wrote:There's silents too?greenyellow wrote:At this point only the coaches and committed players know about any silents since they've been real quiet ever since the season started.rsbgduck wrote:^^^are there not still a couple, three silent commits out their? JJ has been saying for months it's either Alabama or Oregon. And that Alabama was way in the lead. He also has a child. And adults in his life who think he needs to go to Bama. Maybe teams think he's going to Bama?GoDucksTroll wrote:How often does the top ranked OLB in the nation, a borderline 5-star recruit from the South have such a laid back recruitment? I would imagine the child throws a wrench into the plans. We saw it last year with Jeff Thomas, but it's not like Florida is all that close to East St. Louis. I'm trying to think of straight out of high school recruits we've signed that had a child, and Charles Nelson is the only one that comes to mind.ifuwant2 wrote:JJ has been saying for months it's either Alabama or Oregon. I'm sure the staff did their due diligence to gauge his interest. Alabama is staying home for SEC CG, they're about to dust off their recruiting gloves.

Re: J.J. Peterson
I hate to say it but...
If he has a child and is torn between us and Bama I hope he stays close to home. If Oregon is a dream school I think that opportunity sailed once he had a child. He needs the support of family and friends around him. If he tried to make Oregon work I think he would get homesick quickly and end up leaving, it would probably go sideways. This is all assuming that he has support he needs for him and his child around him back home. Selfishly I would love to have him on board but I would advise him to stay, enjoy his scholarship opportunity while being the best father he can be for his child.
