2 new DL offers out tonight (Faoliu & Manoa)
Oregon is wasting no time in recruiting by offering two new DL recruits: 3* DL Drew Faoliu and 4* DL Army All-American Tyler Manoa. Oregon should be in good position for both as Faoliu is the younger brother of current Duck DL Austin Faoliu while Manoa said Oregon is his dream school and was HS teammates with current Duck RB Cyrus Habibi-Likio.

Hope the Ducks can ink these 2...gotta keep that Poly pipeline flowing! SO frustrated that we're not making any headway with Hufanga. He's a program changer!

Would love to snag these 2, especially at a position that is pretty needy.

Re: 2 new DL offers out tonight
We were leading for Hufanga until Willie left. Hufanga had changed his plans around to be here for our massive recruiting weekend but then that all changed obviously. If he waits, I think that helps us out. He can still official here in January, and hopefully we have another decent sized weekend planned for a month from now and we can get back in his good graces.

Yes....having the tag team of Coach Leavitt & Coach Joe wil help. Just not sure if it'll be enough tho'....SC is the front runner for his services.brich75 wrote:polyduck wrote:Hope the Ducks can ink these 2...gotta keep that Poly pipeline flowing! Not even the same situation. Troy was labeled an athletic kid in a weak level of Oregon football and never got a look from any NW D-1 schools. USC was the only D-1 school to offer according to Troy. If you were doing the star rating system with the resources they had back then he would of been a 2* recruit (obviously in today’s world as long as he did a few camps would of been a high 4* . I would say 5* but I don’t see a lot of 5* DB’s), he and Joe (his uncle) self recruited and sent tapes to all the PAC-10 schools and After viewing the tape USC offered over the phone. If Troy would have played at a 4A school (6A today) his name would of been on the front page of the sports section instead of the 3ed page (until he committed to USC) he would of been noticed more and gotten more credit for the quality of competition which is crazy because his measurables were off the charts. Those of us who watched him grow up and play know he deserved more hometown (County) fame than he got, not that he would of wanted it.

TP43 also was a highly regarded baseball prospect too...and SC's baseball team was pretty good back then.rsbgduck wrote:brich75 wrote:polyduck wrote:Yes....having the tag team of Coach Leavitt & Coach Joe wil help. That was my gut feeling with this. Hopefully the Leavitt news keeps those guys on board.skdragon1 wrote:Fair to say then that King and Lamar are gone?

Re: 2 new DL offers out tonight
Not sure what Troy is up to these days. I didn't follow recruiting then near as much as I do today. I am old enough to remember his high school or even college days but the truth is I don't. I know and respect how much he was a force in Pittsburgh. It is almost crazy to think he came from a small school near Roseburg and will absolutely be in the Hall of Fame. For a kid from a small school in Oregon to go that far is incredible. I do not know him personally and do not know what played into him going to USC but would suspect as mentioned before, Oregon did not recruit him. I grew up in Oregon and spent most of my life there. I really did not know of him until the pros. I do not like USC and never paid any attention to their recruiting especially back in his high school days.

Re: 2 new DL offers out tonight
King doesn't have an FSU offer. I have else been reading that while Lamar may be gone soon (he's still committed) I think Florida may actually have a chance. Heyward, Clark, Leavitt, and Salve'a are all staying. I think Woodie and Pimpleton are gone but we may be bringing in the Texas A&M RB coach who is the lead recruiter on a number of quality Texas players including Waddle. He also has OC, RB, recruiting coordinator and HC experience so he may help with the x's and o's as well from his spot as an RB coach. Not a straight up play caller or co-OC but more as a guide.Duck24 wrote:That was my gut feeling with this. Re: 2 new DL offers out tonight
Manoa's dad/coach has said that the Oregon offer took so long because Taggart was against LDS missions, which Cristobal is fine with now:
