Ducks land JC DT Sione Vea Kava on signing day
Deserves its own thread. He has some pretty good offers, and we can always use another big body in the trenches.

How did we not know this guy was even on the radar?

It’s pretty obvious they are trying to salvage this class with players that can be developed. Most of the lower rated guys they have offered have really good size. Which is the one thing people always say you can’t teach

listening on the radio coming into work this morning they were talking
about players below the 4-5 stars. The so called recruiting expert said theres
a 3 star who is a better fit at a group of 5 school or lower then there are
the 3 star players who fit at the fbs level. These kids may have been injured in
the jr year or flew under the radar for what ever reason. They also said that there
are a lot of 3 stars who are playing in the nfl.

Stars smars. I’ll take big athletic kids. Mariota and Herbert were three stars too. I mean those five star guys are awesome and exciting but can only do so much.
I’m pretty pumped for these big OL kids. You see how big they are? With Cristobals teaching and their size they’re going to be pushing PAC 12 Dlines around for years!

I heard about him less than a week ago, checked out his film and liked what I saw. It's really hard to tell with JuCo kids, some of them look incredible on film and then never pan out. They're good for staggering classes, instant impact and some become great college players. But the bust percentage is even higher than it is with HS kids.TualatinDuck wrote:How did we not know this guy was even on the radar?

I remember seeing his name pop up about a month ago when he started getting followed by Coach Salave'a and JHop posted an article about him being in contact with Oregon. He just won defensive player of the year for either his conference or the entire state so he does seem to have some talent. Probably a decent replacement for Diallo.
