Alpha Dog
Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux came in to the week with the biggest reputation and more than lived up to it. Thibodeaux, the No. 2 rated player in the country in the 247Sports Composite, was dominant in the one on ones and didn’t just win every rep, he won them with ease. There were several times when the opposing tackle he went up against didn’t even get a hand on him and he showed off not just an explosive first step but a variety of moves that left the tackle he just torched banging his helmet in frustration. Thibodeaux signed with Oregon over Alabama, Florida and Florida State.

2. DB, Mykael Wright, Antelope Valley (Calif.)- Wright was the top defensive back we saw today and didn’t lose a single one on one rep that we saw. He was always in position, on balance, and had several impressive pass deflections. His performance was even more impressive when you consider he didn’t play a snap as a senior due to transfer issues. He has a strong body, very good athleticism and high level instincts. Wright signed with Oregon.

*Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei running back Sean Dollars looked quick and explosive. The Oregon signee might have been the most impressive back of the day and has the hands to make plays as a slot receiver as well.

What do they mean "has the hands?" What are receivers meant to do with their hands?

Or, considering our players today, drop passes?

This made me laugh so hard as I said this to my gal during the game.

Sounds very encouraging indeed. I think Canton Kaumatule got some hype in these practices also, so it isn't any guarantee of future success, but I would much rather read reports about them doing well than the alternative.
