Here's what Greg Biggins posted about Tajh Boyd's visit to Clemson this past weekend. There is some bad news and possibly some good news:
Boyd back to square one
A week ago, Phoebus (Hampton, Va.) quarterback Tajh Boyd sounded like a pretty solid bet for Oregon with one more trip remaining. After visiting Clemson this past weekend, Boyd now sounds completely open and back to square one.
Boyd recently visited Ohio State and Oregon and took his final official visit this past weekend to Clemson.
"I liked Clemson a lot, was very comfortable there," Boyd said. "I got to meet a lot of the players and spent some quality time with C.J Spiller and some other guys there. The basketball game was a lot of fun and I got to talk with Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys) for about 30 minutes while I was there.
"They have a great coaching staff at Clemson and they broke down the offense and told me how well I would fit in there. They said they need an athletic quarterback and I would be able to give them an extra dimension.
"They have a couple of good quarterbacks now at Clemson with Willy Korn and Kyle Parker but I know Willy has been banged up and Kyle could be a pro baseball player. Right now, all the schools are even for me and I'm going to have my in-home visits this week and then decide next week sometime."
Boyd said Oregon will be in the home later today (Tuesday), Ohio State will be in on Wednesday and Clemson will be in on Friday.
Hopefully Chip Kelly can convince him to choose Oregon.

Why was Jason Witten talking to him? Didn't Jason Witten go to Tennessee the school he de-committed from?

I'm not really getting my hopes up. We seem to be snakebitten in this recruiting season. That, and we really don't have a glaring need for another top-level QB at the moment.
If we get him, fantastic! But I'm not getting my hopes up... too many disappointments this offseason.

Willie Taggart is a dick.

As much as I would like Boyd, he is not a need in this recruiting season. We have DT and I think he is going to be a great QB in Chips system. I would like to have Boyd for depth and competition, but he is nowhere a need right now. Plus I dont really believe he pulls anyone along with him like Brown, Patterson, ect.

You guys are crazy, apparently you already forgot what happened in the Boise State game. In the spread offense, you can never have enough QB's. And if we get Boyd, everyone starts to take a second look. IMO if Boyd commits, that would be the tipping point for Brown. And then the floodgates of the recruiting heavens would unleash upon the Oregon Ducks,ARGHimaPirate wrote:As much as I would like Boyd, he is not a need in this recruiting season.
