2020 TE commit Figgins moving to Eugene early

Post by greenyellow »

Looks like 2020 TE Seth Figgins will be transferring to a Eugene-area HS due to his mom getting a work promotion. He says it'll come down to Sheldon or South Eugene but based on talent and past success, Sheldon would be the obvious choice for him.

We realize that if he was a SC recruit moving to LA that we’d all be screaming about that convenient “promotion”, right?

Maybe if he wasn't a 3* recruit.

Yup, but even as a three or even a two star it leaves the door open for other schools to throw darts and hope something sticks. I have faith that the Oregon Staff and Cristobal is smarter than that, I know they are, no doubts....... bu this era of 24/7 new and a ton of wannabe journalists called bloggers, it's anopen door. In my mind I am sure mom just happened to get transferred to Eugene........

I'm thinking the most-likely scenario is that she was applying for jobs in Eugene because her kid was going to be moving there. Not everybody has that ability, but many do.

A quick internet search shows Lisa Figgins of Westlake Village as a Senior Escrow Officer with a company which also has offices in Eugene.

I see no problem with mom transferring to a new location to be closer to her son during his college career. I do have a question, as a high school commit now live in Eugene and going to ....... Sheldon, lol, how much more access does that give him to Ducks footballl and the coaches? Sideline passes? All recruiting events? Workouts? Trainers?.......

All it really does is allow him to take many more unofficial visits than he would have had he stayed in SoCal since he's so much closer.

Honestly, bonus for him to be close and plugged in to Eugene and the Ducks even before his senior year starts.
