iDuck,
i am compelled to write on this thread…
i am keaton arden’s stepdad. i have known him since the 5th grade. he was not happy that i moved he and his brother to CA from AZ. i am/was a huge bear backer. i am now part of the duck family. keaton has been to every cal football game with me since he got here… that is a lot of games. we have cal gear (footballs, helmets, headcovers etc. all over the house and in his room). i wanted him to be a bear in the worst way...until i met coach alliotti. you are lucky to have such a coach.
piedmont is a small school (read no news coverage, except for our A-11 offense). just today i have sent scout.com his video. you can also go to http://www.kbcsports.com and see his interview (name is mispelled “keyton arden").
he was also just named to the cc times “cream of the crop” for the second year in a row. keaton is a good student, 3.5GPA. he is fast, 4.6/40 and really a 4.5. he has been working out very hard. he gained 12 pounds recently. you will not find a more driven and committed kid on the team than keaton.
hard for me to say; but…
Go Ducks!

Re: From Moseley's blog re Keaton Arden
I wouldn't say that...
I grew up in a Beaver household... and while Dad (Who played tackle for the beavers around the start of WWII. Think of my old man as a 265 pound Chuck Norris, without the martial arts skills, charisma with the ladies, or the great acting ability...
) who couldn't stand the fact that I was a Duck fan, would have supported me in spite of his own leaning, had I gotten the chance and wanted to play at a rival school.
Sounds like what is being said here.

Also...
Granted numbers are only as good as their messenger, but 6-5, 220, 4.6 40 is a pretty good foundation to make into a great end
and he is going to definitely qualify

No offense, but Rudy was also driven, lol. This article kind of seems like a scream of desperation. I wish the kid the best, but I just cannot get excited about this recruit.

Re: From Moseley's blog re Keaton Arden
I don't understand our hate for Keaton Arden! I would have to assume that none of us know much about this kid except for his physical dimensions and this is the reason we are dumping on him...pathetic guys! We offered him and he accepted! Now we have to wait and see what he can do like ALL the other guys that come in, there are no guarantees that any of our recruits will become stars or produce for that matter...so let the guy play before you are disappointed!
He's a DUCK so deal with it!
These threads are getting painful to read with all this whinnying!

Whoa duckgrad, you're gonna make me so depressed that I jump off a cliff! Seriously, if this kid realy wants to be a duck that bad, has such good grades, and is well thought of in a major Cal conference (conference/region acolades), then I'm sure he'll do well here. Give these kids a chance fellas. I have a soft spot in my heart for guys who realy want to be Ducks because, like JWill said in an interview one time, "they don't give you stars in college".duckgrad99 wrote:No offense, but Rudy was also driven, lol. Way too many negaducks
Not only negative
but most likely don't know squat about football. Hmmm 6-4 220 with 4.6 speed!!! . Redshirt, learn the system by j soph year could be 6-4 260 and ready to play. Sounds good to me

Lets give him a chance before we tear him down guys. I hope he has success at Oregon and i think he has real potential to with that frame and speed. I like him. Just because his stars aren't through the roof doesnt mean anything to me. If our coaches offered him, then I'm down

We shall see if those forty numbers aren't doctored up. It seems that you may not know squat about recruiting enough to know that self-reported numbers don't mean squat.

Re: Way too many negaducks
Ain't that the truth, I look forward to seeing what he becomes (talent wise)! If we are lucky he can become a Devan Long type DE with more speed!Pontius wrote:Bighonkingduck wrote:Not only negativebut most likely don't know squat about football. Re: From Moseley's blog re Keaton Arden
A common misconception among several posters: If a guy signs with Oregon, he will be great. If he doesn't, he wasn't very good anyway. I don't see anything wrong with expressing our opinions as to which recruits we think were good pickups and which recruits we could have done without.
