Seastrunk Can't Wait

Post by dthomas=ddixon »

http://www.duckterritory.com/football/f ... egon-visit

Oregon continues to make this weekend one of the biggest weekends in Ducks history... One name on this list was Lache Seastrunk, an absolute game breaker of a running back from Temple, Texas. Lache has been pretty quiet on his college choices, which makes Oregon’s sudden entry somewhat surprising. What was even more surprising were all the glowing words Lache had to say about the Oregon program.

"And coach Kelly is an offensive genius."

That is interesting. I was looking the other day on Scout and it indicated he had no interest in the Ducks. Obviously if we getting an official visit he has some interest in us. Hope he doesnt mind if it rains. That goes for all the recruits though.

Let discuss this...

What are the chances of landing a combo of Marcus Lattimore and Seastrunk?...That would be a decent thunder and lightning combo!!!! Now that's recruiting!

Sorry high on our success so far...and I do like to dream!

Being realistic..I think we take 2 RB's this class. Barner and James, with their build, look to be 4 year starters and both are only freshmen.
We already have Ethan Grant coming in and Dontae Williams looks like a lock. I just don't see enough carries to keep everyone happy and you know a 5* is going to not want to redshirt.
And for the notion that Barner could move back to DB...nah..he is too good on offense.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love Lache or Marcus to come all for the ride, but it could get a bit crowded.

I agree but guys who are high 4 star and 5 star players wouldn't worry about DCs they come in expecting to be the man because they have the talent. But my statement/question above is clearly a dream scenario but if the stars align who knows...

I still think we could take 3 RBs this year. Grant could use a redshirt year like James did to learn the offense and get built up better to handle the college game. Getting 2 RBs from the combination of Williams, Seastrunk, and Lattimore would work since they are developed enough to contribute right away and there are enough carries to go around.

Early on Seastrunk seemed a Texas lock. Would be cool to get him. Not sure of any of his stats but if the coaches get him ...thats good enough for me.

I think RB recruits like what they see in Oregon running game, all thanks to LMJ and Barner.

Perhaps Barner moves back to DB but is the main kick and punt returner? Just saying the coaches will find a way to make it work.

"Distance won’t be any part of a factor at all for me."

That's all I want to hear. Him and Trovon Reed are very close friends. Man if we could somehow pull those 2 to Oregon, WOW.

Let's hope it doesn't rain too much. We got to win this game.

I would rather to have crowded talent RB so that way if 1 goes down, we have other talent RB to step up and keep offense rolling without getting choke. I agree if we land 2 out of 3 ----> Williams, Seastrunk, or Lattimore. It would make sense to redshirt Ethan Grant like Coaches did with LMJ, RB depth: LMJ, Barner, Alston, Williams, (Seastrunk or Lattimore). Thats serious talent right there.

We can't forget the whole 'tazer' position that Kelly wanted to use this year but couldn't due to LGB being suspended.. LMJ, Grant could play 'tazers' while Seastruck and Lattimore could be more one-two punch RBs.. with the speed and shiftiness of LMJ and Grant the Tazer spot would help get them in space more and end arounds/screens could be deadly with those two.. Williams, Seastruck and Lattimore all seem to be more conventional running backs. I personally think Seastruck fits the oregon offense like a glove, and he could be scary good. LMJ plus any of the three backs would be a killer one two.. Dreams are free is right..
