Scouts consider him to be the number one prospect in the draft. Recruited by Bob Knight to player for the Hoosiers. Thomas quickly proved his skills as a player and became a favorite with both Knight and Indiana fans. His superior abilities eventually caused Knight to adjust his coaching style. Amazing play maker. Great ball handling skills. Amazing passer. Defensively, he is a ball hawk who uses his toughness to intimidate opponents. Amazing potential

Danny Ainge C C+ C+ B- C- B
Ainge is already a professional baseball player. Decided to pursue a basketball career after being known as one of the best shooters at BYU. Scouts watched him playing pickup games throughout the year and feel he hasn’t lost a step. Good playmaker for others. May need time to limit his turnovers. A better athlete than most people think. Has a quick first step. Always playing under control, he could set the pace for his team. Really mature for his age. Can play on and off the ball. Good potential

Frank Johnson B- C C+ B- D B
A speedster at the point guard position capable of pushing the ball at breakneck speed. Fits the mold of modern day, “score first” point, but shows an understanding of getting his teammates looks. Good handles. He is an absolute pest at the defensive end. Good passer. Will need to improve on his outside shot. Good potential

Juan Antonio Corbalán C B+ C+ C+ C- B
Amazing outside shooter. Isn’t a standout athlete. Quick but lacks explosive ability. Turnover prone. Possesses ideal lead guard skills and basketball IQ. Unselfish, doesn’t force offense, and makes the extra pass. Good awareness as a defender. Active hands. Puts pressure on the ball and picks up full court. Good potential

Jim Brogan C C+ C+ B C- B
Floor general at point guard, works to set up teammates for open looks. Great decision maker, limits turnovers. Finds passing lanes and makes easy dump-offs to big men. Shows potential on three-point shot. Defensively, one of the best at anticipating and jumping passing lanes, leading to easy transition buckets. Very capable on ball, perimeter defender against quicker, shorter guards. Good potential

Darnell Valentine C+ C- B- B C- C
Ready now prospect who is quick and capable of leading a team on the floor. Average handles and passing range. Can score by driving and pulling up with a jumper. Good defender who can knick a steak or two. Not much potential but can slide into a rotation tomorrow.

Franklin Edwards C C- B- B- D+ C
Very good handles and is one of the quickest in his class for the position. Needs to improve his passing range to play more minutes. Good jump shot but avoids driving and creating contact which limits his scoring. Average defender. Average potential.

John McClure C- C+ B C D+ C
Very good jump shot with range to the three-point line. Quickest player in the draft but not much strength. Needs to bulk up. Average handles and passing range. Below average on ball defender and does not create many turnovers. Ok potential.

Dan Buckner C C C C+ D+ C
Somewhat of an unknown prospect who could enter the draft despite being only 19. Scouts were able to find that his handles are advanced for his age and his reach is comparable to someone who is 6’7. Pure gamble pick here but will need many years of grooming before knowing his true potential.
