Mississippi State @ #6 LSU
Mike Leach's offense is making KJ Costello look like a frickin' stud with 623 yards passing and 5 TDs. MSU up 10 over LSU with less than 2 minutes to play.

Re: Mississippi State @ #6 LSU
Non-injured Costello has always been a fringe-NFL player.
MSU has done everything in their power to Coug It. LSU just isn't very good this year and can't keep the momentum.

Sorry about your Tigers, Bud Lee. Now you know how we felt about going against Leach all these years.

What a pick-up Costello was for Leach; the perfect QB for his system to hit the ground running. It's really too bad the Pac 12 lost a coach of Leach's caliber, but nice to see him doing well in the SEC.

I'm too lazy to go back and find it to repost, but I broke down each season of WSU under Leach to show how they performed in non-cons and bowl games. The very obvious takeaway was that they routinely shat the bed out of conference and then would turnaround and cause turmoil in the conference. It's a blessing that he's gone because his teams never lifted the conference's strength of schedule.Phalanx wrote:What a pick-up Costello was for Leach; the perfect QB for his system to hit the ground running. Further, they always lost to uw. So it's even better someone else is in the Palouse.

Well, at any rate, it's nice to see Leach causing turmoil in the SEC rather than here.StevensTechU wrote:I'm too lazy to go back and find it to repost, but I broke down each season of WSU under Leach to show how they performed in non-cons and bowl games. What will be fun is watching how much crow is going to have to be eaten with all the pre-season talk down south (my home office is in South Carolina) about how Leach will be exposed because of the superiority of SEC defenses. The radio shows in the south are insufferable about SEC dominance. Hosts and call in fans alike. It’s as though the rest of the country are a bunch of high school teams.
630 yards passing is mind blowing. They must be besides themselves today. A 315 yard passing game is very good... 630? That’s off the charts.

I live in the heart of the SEC now and I hope Leach’s teams expose all of these teams as they constantly preach about how week the “west coast teams are.” I must admit however, that they do respect The Ducks down here and I’ve decided to root for the Georgia bulldogs except when they play Oregon. Even though their coach is Kirby not so...I must admit I enjoyed hearing about LSU’s loss yesterday. Over hyped and over rated IMHO.

If Leach and MSU played The Citadel or Incarnate Word instead they probably would’ve lost.

That's odd, every local show here was excited to see Leach come in (if not for the press conferences a lone) and was wondering if he would go full air raid or not. Now they weren't predicting a State win, they all thought it would be close and then the talent would win out on our side. Didn't happen but with 4 returning starters on offence and 3 on defense with Stingley out it isn't shocking. I just hope they improve and we will be at least 8-2 this year. If not it will be a looooooong season.UofDuck wrote:What will be fun is watching how much crow is going to have to be eaten with all the pre-season talk down south (my home office is in South Carolina) about how Leach will be exposed because of the superiority of SEC defenses. I don't think State is going to put up numbers like us every week though. A lot of that was due to the fact that our defense played horrible and our best CB wasn't playing. They will likely light up Arky and Kentucky the next couple of weeks and then things will start to get a little more challenging. The scary part is that is going to be two really easy games for them to fine tune things.
With that said, I was telling my wife Saturday how awesome it would be if in this crazy year we had teams like Mississippi State and Kansas State win their conferences and end up in the Playoffs. I want straight up underdogs across the board this year in the playoffs!

Yeah don't be so sure about that, with Leach, it's very possible they lose those games. That's what Leach would do in the Pac-12 at least, light up Oregon then lose to Arizona the next week.Bud Lee wrote:That's odd, every local show here was excited to see Leach come in (if not for the press conferences a lone) and was wondering if he would go full air raid or not. Arkansas might be one of the worst teams in FBS. If they win a conference game, I'll be pretty shocked.

Well, hopefully you are sitting down. I think MSU is about to learn what 'Couging it' means.StevensTechU wrote:Arkansas might be one of the worst teams in FBS. If they win a conference game, I'll be pretty shocked.

Mike Leach doing Mike Leach things. Beating the top teams and then crapping the bed. I watched this game and both of these teams were absolutely awful.
