Nikos Galis is coming back to the States to prove that he has the quality to play in the DASL after getting thrown to the side by the Celtics in 1979 after his injury in preseason that year. After leading Aris Thessaloniki to four Greek league championships and two Greek Cups, Nikos is looking to expand his accomplishments in the DASL and prove to himself that he can play in the best league in the world. Scoring 40 PPG in the Greek league over the past four seasons, he has shown that he can score against the top European players but the allure of competing in the DASL was too good to pass up.
He is looking to play for a contender and compete for a championship as there are not many more years left in his legs despite his superior athleticism and conditioning. Despite his small frame, Nikos can attack the rim with the best of them and bounce off defenders to finish. His jump shot is second to none with range extending to the three point line. His strength and quickness are not what they were in his prime but his skill and technique more than makes up for his declining physical traits. Great playmaker who finds the passing lanes when in the paint despite his frame with average handles. His play on the defensive end is nothing spectacular and wont show up in the box score but plays hard and hard nosed.
Scouts see Nikos as a perfect third wheel for teams looking to win now and the potential of his playing career in the DASL to last 4/5 years but each year his skills will be in decline.

“Looking to play for a contender” but will likely end up on a rebuilding team
