Espn on Brandon Williams

He selected the Ducks over scholarship offers from Baylor, Toledo, Central Michigan and Wyoming. Programs including Kansas State, Arizona and Florida State expressed late interest.
"I decided that this was the place for me, and informed the coaches before I left today (Sunday). I'm definitely committed. I have some other visits set up, but I'm going to cancel those first thing tomorrow," Williams said.
"The atmosphere was amazing on my visit. And I heard it wasn't even that loud. I knew Oregon was good, but seeing it in person re-iterated those thoughts. It was my first and last official visit."
Also further down the page, this from DeMarcus Smith (2011 4* QB): "It's official when I get that offer from Oregon I'm committing that second. I'm done, they were every bit as good as I heard that they were. My mom watched the game with some family and friends back home, she told me that I better commit when they offer too. I mean it is such a great offense, if you are a quarterback you should be lining up to play in that offense. It's amazing."

Is there a reason we haven't offered Smith yet?dthomas=ddixon wrote:http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recruitin ... oolId=2483

Schools are waiting to see how he does on his SAT. They also might want to see how his recovery from a torn ACL goes.MFRDuckFan wrote:Is there a reason we haven't offered Smith yet?

As others pointed out, the knee and academics are real issues with DaMarcus. I'll add one more big one: there's another kid named Smith residing right here in Salem, OR. His name is Brett Smith. The Ducks have his tape and he's every bit as good as DaMarcus with no baggage (bigger @ 6'2) and in the same 2011 class. He's probably the best QB in the state right now.MFRDuckFan wrote:Is there a reason we haven't offered Smith yet?dthomas=ddixon wrote:http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recruitin ... oolId=2483

And there is another QB the Ducks are close to offering Christian Lemay from North Carolina, he currently holds 17 offers but really likes the Ducks. He is projected to be one of the top QB's for 2011.

I don't know about the whole every bit as good as DaMarcus thing. He very well could be down the road, but as of now he doesn't hold any offers.

DaMarcus doesn't have any offers? Or did you mean Brett?swagnatic101 wrote:MacDuck wrote:As others pointed out, the knee and academics are real issues with DaMarcus.
