Conerly announcing tonight Edit: QUACK!
My sources say USC. No one knows definitively, but that is what I am hearing.

Back to being the bridesmaid for these 5-star recruits. We have had a lot of second place finishes again.
I didn't care for Mario's offense, but he was closing these kinds of recruiting battles.

Which 5-star recruits did Mario close out on in his first 4 months of coaching?northbeachsf wrote:Back to being the bridesmaid for these 5-star recruits. We have had a lot of second place finishes again.

0. In fact, he only had one 4-star commit in his first 4 months of being our coach. He didn't land a 5-star recruit until his 3rd class.
It took Mario years before he was landing the KTs, Flowes, Noah Sewells, etc. I'd imagine Lanning will be recruiting at a similar level in a couple years if we are competing in the Pac-12.

And there isn’t any comparison between having to recruit against Riley vs Helton.UOducksTK1 wrote:Which 5-star recruits did Mario close out on in his first 4 months of coaching?northbeachsf wrote:Back to being the bridesmaid for these 5-star recruits. Lots of negative energy in this thread. What just happened is bigger than any commitment Cristobal has ever got save for KT, whom he had significant more time to develop a relationship with. Fans need to give this staff some time to make some noise. This is huge. Beating out USC under Riley is about as big as it gets. Grabbing a kid from Seattle is just as sweet. Go DUCKS!

Re: Conerly announcing tonight
I knew he committed today but didn’t know the time, I popped on earlier this afternoon to see if there were any updates and based off this thread thought he already committed to USC! Sure glad everyone was wrong! What a pickup by the coaching staff.

MASSIVE GET! Really takes the sting out of losing Banks earlier in the process. And to beat SC and Mario in the process? *chef's kiss*

Very impressive signing by the staff in such a short period of time. Especially against USC with an offensive recruit. I was not expecting this pleasant surprise and can't wait to see what Lanning can do on the field and recruiting next year.

Re: Conerly announcing tonight Edit: QUACK!
That last minute visit to Eugene last weekend must have really been a good one for him to go from a likely USC commit to a Duck commit. I think we now have a small idea of what this staff can do.
