Re: New Matt Knight Arena Court Design?
Saw this yesterday (still not sure if it's real) and it looks like they may have taken off the design already. I do know they've sanded the floor design off before and repainted it to refresh it. They may have to do so because of where the Big Ten logo has to go (Big Ten courts typically have logo near the FT line instead of the wing like the Pac-12.)

I have hated that floor from the beginning and it never grew on me in the least. Good riddance if true.

Just making the trees shades of green (shocking, I know) would be such a natural and easy solution.GrandpaDuck wrote:I have hated that floor from the beginning and it never grew on me in the least. Good riddance if true.

Floor is basically back to bare wood. Should be interesting what the rebrand will be.

Based on this tweet from an Oregonian sports columnist, there'll be different courts for basketball and volleyball.

Yes. Green is all they needed to do. As a tree lover with a mini forest of my own, I didn't see a burnt trees as some did. I saw worse, blight and disease. A very sad choice stubbornly held on to.webfoots2001 wrote: Wed Apr 17, 2024 5:58 pmJust making the trees shades of green (shocking, I know) would be such a natural and easy solution.GrandpaDuck wrote:I have hated that floor from the beginning and it never grew on me in the least. Crazy idea, but paring back on the design sometimes is the best choice.

Some more information about the new floor. It's been in the works for years and won't be done until at least June.

The new floor has been unveiled. It incorporates more green and there are now ducks on the floor. Great update.

Seems everyone got a little of everything they wanted with subtle green trees, more school colors, and a floor reminiscent of Mac Court.

The old floor with the trees and no lines was really bad. Looked like a 9 year old designed it. This looks like a real basketball floor. Bravo!
