Florida State, lost again to Boston College and it wasn’t even close. DJU is really struggling and the entire FSU team looks like they don’t want to be there. I’ll be curious to see how their season goes but this could be a long one for FSU.

Can we stop with the hand-wringing now? Sheesh, it's only been one game. I have never been comfortable with a preseason #3 ranking given that the ducks were replacing a first-round NFL draft pick at QB with a guy whose old team seemed pretty content about him moving on. I expect the offense to fall off from last year; I am not sure how it could not, having to also replace so much of the O-line. So can we please stop acting like rubes who only listen to summertime talking heads who don't know our team as well as we do?

The O-line will get better as the season goes on. Blocking will improve, penalties at crucial times will decrease...it happens this way year after year, and the preseason is set up to accommodate that gradual improvement with opponents growing steadily more difficult instead of starting with LSU or some other major program. This team will probably not be as good as last year, but I do like watching that defense go to work. Oregon is built like an old-school SEC team this year, strong on defense and possession/game managing stuff on offense. It worked all those years in the SEC, so let's see what happens. I also suspect that some of the playbook is being save for tougher opponents. Could be wishful thinking, but we'll see.

It was mostly a joke, perhaps a better way to put it is despite a disappointing effort at least we aren’t FSU. This is the other guys page and I was trying to start a thread about FSU cause they are really having issues right now.

I watched the game tonight for awhile. Boston College kept running it up the gut, often with the QB, and FSU just couldn't tackle. And of course DJU threw the obligatory pick setting up a TD a few plays later. I have a hard time feeling sorry for FSU after they stole our coach and were so gleeful about it, but the money they had to pay Oregon helped us end up with better coaching, so I guess we owe them some gratitude for that.

I'd add UCLA as another team that didn't look good. A 16-13 win over an awful Hawaii team in the last minute wasn't very impressive.

And Texas Tech, they went to overtime with Abilene Christian and won off of a failed 2 point conversion.

But again, nobody has been as bad as Florida St.
